Spinbike

It's a double header this weekend:

TriCities 10k on Saturday and triPATHlon on Sun...The 10k is my neighborhood race and the goal is anything sub-44 but it would take something a good bit faster than that to make me happy.

triPATHlon is kind of an interesting race - pool swim/the toughest bike course I know/non-flat 5k. Last year, the race had a good portion of racers new to the sport and I was 7th overall/2nd in Masters to my co-worker. He'll be racing again this year but he's aged up, so the USTA points scoring won't be so generous, assuming he beats me again.

After triPATHlon, I'm not sure I'll do another tri until the fall. Heat makes for an unhappy alltom1...We'll see.

SCT w/Tommy

The kid's second time on a bike since the ride across the US and first ride since he got his cast off. He needs to get some riding in before we leave for Bike Ride Across Georgia...we rode at about 17mph and he got in 35 or so miles before he had to leave for a school thing.

I kept riding and did some work but mostly tried to save my legs for next weekend's double header.

I take some pride in not getting too wound up by any one race - long course or short. Too much can happen to account for a good day as opposed to bad and even a totally prepared athlete can wind up with results that don't match fitness, etc... Today's result was not what I was expecting but I'll get it back on the next one.
