Just your basic easy ride around the neighborhood.
Flew to St. Louis at 7am, home to Denver by 4pm. Tomorrow: 8:30am flight to Phoenix, home at 7pm and straight to the Rockies game.

Good race pace, which includes throwing a chain.
Proudest moment came when I gave a struggling 20-year-old my Gu.
Why, really, is swimming in a mob part of triathlon? Shouldn't this just be something they do on "Fear Factor?"
OK. Well... great race. Managed to make sub-6 hour goal with 5:42.
Off to St. Louis tomorrow.

Really easy ride around neighborhood. Equipment checked out fine. Just need to clean bike and inflate tires.
Fun run around neighborhood with a couple of easy intervals. Ready to go, I guess.
Nice little tune-up. Felt fine. Practiced easy sighting.
Not overly thrilled with training leading up to 1/2 Ironman tomorrow, but I'll be able to finish, anyway. I'll just be participating, not racing, but it will be a good strong workout en route to season finale Ironman event (hopefully, if I'm in the country).
Need to head up to Boulder now to pick up race packet.
Going to the Rockies game tonight. That's probably a good way to get ready for a 6:30am start!
Motto for tomorrow: Pleasure over Speed: Fast equals Slow, and Fun equals Victory.

Night swim in back yard.
Holly called to say that she just introduced Jessica Biel (Holly played poker with her at a "celebrity" tournament) to our friend the Mayor. I'm home watching "My Name is Earl." And I'm much happier than if I had been dragged to the party.
Went out to the backyard for a night swim, and got an adrenaline kick just because it was a little weird out there. The pool lights seemed to have an eerie effect, and swimming in my birthday suit was just a bit creepy. So, I gave up after 10 minutes and came in early enough to catch the news, where apparently the biggest thing to happen in Denver today was the arrest of this whack job around the JonBenet Ramsey case.
Just a crazy day. I need to get back into the sanity of training. With the swim from Alcatraz to SF, a marathon, and an Ironman event coming up, I probably should seriously get cranking....
