Day 406 yoga for posture. Still quite a bit of pain/discomfort. My wife thinks I should go see the 'doctor' I will be fine.

Tough decision, but I decided not to run tonight in hopes that. I can recover faster from the fall. Figure in the long run this 3 or 4 miles missed won't hurt.

Day 405 gentle morning practice. Again lots of discomfort in upper body, front and back.

As I continue to wallow in the pain of my fall, a couple of positive observations. I almost ran a 50k on a complete whim and if I had, I would have finished with a good time, maybe a pr. Even after hurting myself, I kept plowing ahead at a reduced, but decent pace. I didn't quit even though the course allowed for a couple of easy outs. Even though I hurt a lot from the fall, my legs feel great.

Lapham peak. Mostly on ski trail, including gut buster. First few miles were just awful pace. Quite gun shy of ice and upper body in pretty good pain, but only when I step or breath. Probably should have been a rest day. Second half pace a little bit more reasonable.

Day 404. Gentle yoga sequence. You know when a gentle sequence is difficult, you may have hurt yourself.

3 loops of john Dick race course. Problem with running a race as a true traing run, is that I treat it as a race. Went out pretty aggressive. About a mile into second loop I hit a patch of ice and went down hard. Thought about dropping for a moment but soldiered on in pain. As I write this, my right leg, chest, ribs, arm and back are quite sore. Again, Good practice for running when body is not feeling good. Each loop was about 5 minutes slower than the previous. Trail was pretty icy and I did get gun shy after the fall.
In looking at numbers, even if I slowed down even more, I was pace to hit a pr for 50k. Pretty crazy.

Lapham peak. Had lights off and good chunk of ski trail closed so I decided to run little bit of black loop. Up gut buster and down big slide. Big news tonight was that I put screws in my shoes for first time. Don't know what took me so long. Makes ice much more manageable.

Lapham peak. Did mostly mountain bike trails on meadow side to keep from killing myself on icy trails. Almost fell a couple times. But stayed upright.
