ez morning run

Current body count: old familiar glute/hip issue on right side, 'new' issue with sore left calf that has been around for about 2 weeks and newest member of family bruised and sore middle toe on right foot. In desperate move will pick up some new shoes before race day as current ones are reaching mileage limits (about 480 miles) and not helping matters.

Truth is that my body is not going to get me to any of my goals this weekend. Only hope is willing myself through my mental game. Can't say that gives me a lot of confidence. Goal this week is to rest up as much as possible physically, focus, as much as possible, to find some positive mental fortitude and work on just letting go of the result so I can f*king enjoy this race.

Yoga with Adriene for stress and relaxation on the deck. Absolutely beautiful morning with leaves starting to fall. If this session won't relax me, nothing will.

Yeah, I am anticipating next sunday to be a clusterf*ck. Seems my runs these days have one of two emotions: self-defeated sadness or anger. First 1/2 of this run was filled with the first, then I got mad. Result of second half much better. So I guess I will run next week angry.

Short eve. run In Nagawaki park. Had a cross country course marked out so I ran on most of that. Beautiful evening. Beautiful park. Crappy run.

Black loop with the Lapham Peak trail runners. Felt fatigued, but this run turned out to be much speedier than expected. I will take it! Stayed after to enjoy snacks with the group. Very nice bunch.
