Well biking is starting to feel like an old friend, but make no mistake about it, doing no bike training for six months comes with a price.  With a strong head wind going out and hot temps, that price became pretty apparent.

Tried to get out early to beat the heat, but was starting to kick in already.  Kept my streak of getting into the middle of major sporting events in Chicago as I had to contend with thousands of bikes (Tour de Cure) as I tried to cross Lake Shore drive.  Didn't have my Garmin, but the one mile I paced was about 8:10) so I would estimate that this is probably pretty accurate, not that it matters too much.  Enjoyed the change in scenery.  Running is a great way to see the city.

Well, plan was to get up this morning and run, but my inability to get up caused that to not be possible. So I will do it tonight in the heat.  Hopefully I won't cancel my run because of the heat. ;)

UPDATE: so no run today because of schedule. Actually went out for .25 mile and realized I only really had time for about 1.5 miles, so I pulled plug and stretched instead.

Lovely evening ride on Glacier trail (except the part where a rude group ride came around a blind corner taking both lanes and essentially forcing me off the trail as the only way of avoiding a head on crash. Well at least one of of the twenty riders said sorry.  Dumb asses!) Otherwise really starting to enjoy the bike.

Hard track attack which felt like heart attack. Actually heart and lungs were suffering but legs felt good.  Starting tighting up a bit at end as I got tired and form started to fade.
