2013: My Second Season
April 23
Been feeling a little run down the past few days. Work has been crazy and will do so through Saturday. After that, things should become normal again. Still getting a heck of an upper body workout on the ponies in the mornings, but decided to take a few days of downtime. Still planning on some solid bikes and swims this week, but no running (shin did not come out of Sunday's tri well). In the meanwhile, doing some tri-bike shopping!

Quickest group ride yet. Went with the "fast guys." Last year I tried to go with them a couple times but always got dropped. Happy to say I stayed with them this time (we started out with 25 and ended with 9) and even did a little pulling:-) My usual group did the same route at 19.2 mph so this was a big step up.
I have to say cycling is becoming my favorite. Since I still am not 100% to start upping my run mileage, and swim like a snail, the cycling has kind of become my default sport where I can really hammer away. The more I do it the more addicted I feel. May look into some road races and time trials this summer. Also, keeping an eye out for a new but used tri bike.

Mini-brick! Short little run with friends when I got off the bike. Legs are starting to get used to the bike-run sequence. They didn't feel heavy at all!
Group ride. Long ride for me right now. Didn't pull tonight; still a bit tired from the tri.
After 2 recovery days it was time to get back out there. Happy with a solid group ride, baby run and huge peanut butter cup smoothie with extra protein. Yumm-o!
