2013: My Second Season

First bike ride of my Minnesota vacation (visiting family for a week) and it was interesting. The twin cities have absolutely beautiful bike paths, so it was fun exploring the scenery. I never biked here when I was younger so it was all new to me! Started out by myself but ran into a group ride and asked if I could follow along. Turned out they were a C Pace doing about 10mph, but it was still fun. They were on a lovely route, so there was lots of waterfront scenery.
The goal is to try and do about 20+ miles per day while I am here. Not doing any running because the shin is acting up, and nowhere to swim so I'm having some quality time with Luke, my bike.

Final busy weekend at work. Spent 13 hours at the barn the last 2 days. Horses ship to Canada tomorrow night. Taking a quick trip home (Minnesota) and then I will only be working mornings when I return. Can't wait to get back in the grind. Going to bring my bike with me and looking forward to checking out some brand new bike routes while I'm up there!

So my hopes of speedy riding are dashed. Urban biking is much different- lots of stoplights, lots of being stuck behind commuters and MN has lots of rough roads and potholes! But still, you can't beat the scenery and the bike path system. I went by myself today and did more exploring. I did throw in a few hill repeats but mostly it was an easy ride. Cut it short when the skies opened about 5 miles away from home.
