No longer a triathlete, but time to get in shape!

Rain kept me from riding outside.  I didn't want to get the Cervelo messy on the first ride.  So, I set it up on the trainer for the inaugural spin.  Hopefully another spin tonight.

Trainer ride tonight after the girls went to bed.

We did make it to Performance Bike before it closed. I bought a carbon cage, Aero Bottle and set up, Look pedals, and a VDO wireless cadence computer.  The plan is to get the pedals and bottle cage on the bike tonight and get out for a short ride on the Cervelo tomorrow.  :)

Up early for a quick spin.  Yes, that is morning training.  And no, I didn't like it.  ;)

Run at lunch.  Still faster than I need to be going.  I had dead legs to boot.

Training this weekend is going to be tough.  Between girls soccer, my free time with girls, and crazy weekend work schedule there aren't many holes for any long training, nor is there any time to get to Performance Bike to get the set ups for my Cervelo. Oh well, one of the activities with my girls just might be a drive to the bike store.  :)

Updated my avatar to convince myself I am a cyclist.

Run at lunch.  Too fast!  I need to get my HR zones set up.  Planned swim tonight.

Scheduled my fitting at Final Kick for Tuesday afternoon.  My weekend schedule is crazy so I don't know if I will get on the new bike before Tuesday.  :(

Decent swim tonight.  1,500 meters and then drills.

Back home - spin tonight.

I am reading Going Long and my IM training is starting to come into focus.  First, this is going to be a lot of work!!!  Second, my new motto is "ride lots".  I really need to work on my bike endurance.  Besides that little swim issue I have, the bike is going to make or break my race.  DUH - I finally realized that I can be the best runner in the world, but it won't matter for sh!t if I blow it all out on the bike.

I called Final Kick tonight to schedule a bike fitting, but the fitter is actually out getting FIST certified.  So, it looks like I won't get it fit until next week.  Oh well, if I get time I will take it out for a spin this weekend anyway.  I still need pedals, bottle holders, and such, but those are all details.

Run at lunch.  Hopefully a short spin tonight and then off to Ft. Lauderdale in the morning.

Ok, so I finally set up my bike last night.  I know almost nothing about bikes, but it sure looks aero, fast and pretty.  The cables are internal, which is very cool!    My digital camera is out of batteries so I can't post any pictures.  I will get some up later this week.

Honestly, the bike looks/feels a little small for me (5'11''), but I've never been on a true tri bike, so I might not know what to expect.  It also could be that I notice the difference in the 650 vs. 700 tires.  I plan on going to Final Kick later this week for a proper fitting.  I can't wait to ride it.  :)
