No longer a triathlete, but time to get in shape!

Up early for an easy spin.  RPE = 2.

Wanted to swim today, but work prevented that.  Maybe later tonight, but doubtful.......

Training will be sporadic for a little while as there are not enough hours right now to balance everything going on.  Nashville trip Wednesday & Thursday, so we will see what I can get in at the hotel.

Easy run at lunch. I still don't have my legs, but my lungs (HR) were much better.  Weird weather for January - 75 degrees and windy!  I was getting blown around something fierce going over the bridges.  RPE = 3.

Planned drainer ride tonight while either watching 24 or some MLK documentaries (I know - complete opposites).

Seeing how this is the half way point of the month, I know I will not make my monthly goals.  My travel schedule picks up again this week, and between that and other work/personal commitments getting in my LONG weekend training sessions will be tough.  Oh well, that's ok because I feel really good about my base coming into 'official' IM training on Feb 5.  And honestly, I know my body could use another 2 - 3 less stressful weeks before it all begins.  That being said, I will not use any of this as an excuse to be a 'slacker'.  I will get in my work, just not as much as expected at the beginning of the month.

Swim

Splish - Splash.  Laps, laps, laps.  Swim for endurance.  Focused on 'reaching' with each stroke.

The week of bike avoidance is over.  I will get all three colors in my graph this upcoming week.

I had nuthin!  No legs - no lungs.  This was probably my most labored run since the last 3 miles of Marine Corps Marathon.  Either I am still not fully recovered or I've lost a lot more run endurance than I would like to know.  I am hoping it is the first choice and I will continue to take it slow and easy over the next couple of days.  RPE=7.

SLOW nooner run.  RPE =2.  Planned swim tonight and 15 mile run scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Drills, drills, drills tonight.  I even did some flip turns - they weren't pretty, but it is a start.  :)

We now return you to your regularly scheduled IM training program.

Up early (gasp) for a swim (gasp).  Yup - the two most unlikely things happened in the same day - early morning workout AND a swim.  I was feeling like a total slug yesterday and I have to get back at it.  Swim was decent - 1,500 meters plus drills, drills, drills.  Planned run at lunch to see if my body is ready to resume regular training.

Heee's back!!!  Pretty good moderately paced nooner run.  My legs were still a tad stiff, but everything else felt good.  RPE = 5.
