Race results are finally up from Saturday.  If the race was an actual DU, I would have won my AG - out of only 4 doing the Du ;)   I don't know if/when I will get to doing a race report, but here are the splits:

Run 1 (3.1 miles) -  23m 47s (7:40/mile)
T1 - 2m 29s
Bike (56 miles) - 2h 51m 17s (19.62/mph)
T2 - 3m 40s (they were serving Starbucks :P )
Run 2 (13.1 miles) - 1h 56m 03s (8:52/mile)
Total:  5h 17m 14s

Back at home for 2 days after hotel stays outside of Lake Anna, Virginia (for the race) and College Park, Maryland (for work).  I still haven't seen results from Saturday's race, but I posted approximate guesses on times.  My body was very beat up and tired yesterday.  The past 2 weekends of hard races took their toll on me physically.  I haven't been that sore since I took up tri training.  The only other time I remember feeling like that was during my initial cycle of marathon training.   I hope that means I am getting stronger.  I feel a little better today.  Deserved or not, this week is going to be a huge step back week. and honestly it couldn't come at a better time.  Lot's of travel over the next 8 days (business and family obligation) and very little time for long training.  I will get in what I can when I can.  Run and swim planned today.

Slow nooner run to get the lactic buildup out.  Didn't work - dead legs.

I didn't swim and yes, I wish I brought my wetsuit. Oh well, that will make it ever so sweet at CdA.   Overall time was 5:18ish.  First 5k was under 25 minutes.  So, with a slow swim (50ish minutes) that would put my overall time for a traditional half around 5:40-5:45.  I will post split times when the race results are up.  Overall decent day, but it hurt at the end.  That makes sense as my legs were tired even BEFORE the gun went off.

Easy nooner run.  Nothing else until Saturday.

Yes, I am doing the Du.  Skipping the swim in 53 degree water will not make me any less of an IronMan when I cross the finish line in June - that is all that matters.  Saturday will be a simple training day, with zero emphasis on time.

I apologize now for the fact that I will not be able to check in too often over the next couple of weeks.  Travel is going to be insane.  I will log my limited work-outs and where abouts, but that is probably it.  I guess I will call this a step back period.  Starting tomorrow, I think I am staying in 6 different hotels over a 13 day time period.  Should be fun - ugghhh!
