About 2.6 miles at an average pace of 176 spm.

It really ticks me off when I forget to bring necessary equipment along. Forgot my swim gear tonight so no pool time. Fortunately, the Y does not allow for swimming without proper attire! Pretty good run tonight. Took it easy so as not to re-aggravate the knee. A bit apprehensive about Thursday: will the knee hold out? Will I have enough will power to see it through? Only Thursday will know... The thing is, I know I can run faster, farther and longer but my legs just aren't up to it yet. Becomes frustrating knowing that the rest of me has more. Back in the olden days I had a damn high pain tolerance. That has since diminished in my infirmity. I can still push through pain and soreness but it is much more of an effort. Probably derives from being lazy for the last 15 years. Just a matter of retraining my mind and body.

After an exciting day at work, came home and took Ava to swimming with Gabriella in tow to watch. Just lugging Gabby around in the car seat was a workout! Ava did wonderfully in swimming. She has gotten to the point where she will jump in without having to hold the instructor's hand! It is great to see how much she is progressing from the lessons I have given her and the earlier instructor led classes. Such great pride I feel in seeing her accomplish goals on her own! It was great to have Gabriella along as well. Her laugh is a tonic for the soul. Honestly, my girls make me feel younger. In fact, before Ava started swim lessons I hated swimming. Found it inane. Now, I look forward to my swim sessions. Same goes for Astronomy. Interesting story: one winter morning back when Ava was around 1 year, I was loading her into the truck to take her to the grandparents when she exclaimed "stars!" I looked up and sure enough the sky was clear and filled with stars! Two weeks later I bought my 8" telescope. She rekindled in me a passion that I had put aside. Moral of the story: kids are the best encouragers in the world!
