easy jog around the hood. just trying to loosen up the legs. stretched a bit afterwards. felt pretty good, actually.

well, i managed to drag my ass out of bed this morning, which was a pretty big accomplishment. my side still hurts quite a bit. what gives? sideaches should be reserved for those who are moving, not me sitting here in the office. i feel pretty good today, though, considering the torture i subjected myself to yesterday. not too much soreness in any particular place, so i'm excited about that. we'll see what tomorrow brings, though. great job, to all those at rec-plex this weekend. it was great to have some friends at the race (katieyows and slovegreen) to keep me loose and calm. thanks!

At the pool this morning, I wore the top that I'll be racing in. I didn't even know I had it on, so that's good.

this was the ideal workout for me. short and sweet. touched speed a couple times, and got a good confidence boost from it. coach would be proud.

June 15

still very very sore today. the exact opposite of what i was hoping for 3 days before a race. my legs ache from hip to toe, and needless to say, i'm not very happy about it. this sore throat that is trying to escalate into more, is also upsetting. sorry, nottalotta good stuff to say today. ~B just mowed the lawn tonight. it was a good piece of easy excercise to loosen the legs up. i got in a decent stretching session, and then ate my favorite pre-race meal: spaghetti pie. yumm!

June 14

i was thinking of doing a little run this evening, but i don't know now. my legs need to recover from the squatting/standing involved in last nights softball game. so instead, i might do nothing today. short run thursday. short swim friday. transition practice saturday. race sunday. got it! ~B

cruised around a little bit in the afteroon. practiced attacking a couple hills.

i had my transition area set up for when i got back. i hopped off the bike, parked it in the garage in it's usual spot, switched over to running mode, and was hitting the pavement in about 30 seconds.

the taper continues. plan is to bike tonight. something pretty low-key in the 15mi range would do the trick. i might mess around with some tranistion stuff, too.
