I worry that I'll start to struggle with workouts if I don't get registered for something. But what should it be?
I thought about the idea of one of those 8-hr events where you just see how far you can go in that amount of time. Could be pretty cool! But realistically, if I'm not feeling like I'm in marathon shape, why should I tackle such a big event? Then again, I surprised myself at Ironman... maybe I could do it again.

Out to Grant's Trail and back. I forgot to set my alarm, but got up on my own at 5:15, so I wasn't too far behind. I decided to do a little longer run tonight since I have to miss the Big River speed session. I'm glad I did, because I really had a great run!
Started out easy, and since it was pretty chilly and I was only wearing shorts and t-shirt, keeping really cool was easy. I saw a girl wearing ear-warmers, pants, and a coat while running too. Yikes!
I went easy so that I could turn it up for a few miles on the trail in the middle of the run. As I pushed the pace, I was hitting low 7's effortlessly, still all in Z1. At the turn-around point, the path became a slight incline and I thought my pace might drop, but it barely did. I was really cruising and feeling great! That was a terrific L "S" D run.
I'll keep in mind as I continue training that "I run best on lots of rest!"

couldn't find my HRM strap, so i went w/o it. it took more effort today to his this pace, than it did on tuesday on the flats. i'm really happy with this run because it came on the heels of good long run.
