Nothing in Moderation :)

June 19

Walked 9 holes after work. Damn it was hot!!  Shot a 44, and I was pretty excited because I've never played from the blue tees before.  Overall a nice outing... finished par, bogey, bogey, par, par. woohoo!

2x Queeny

First 2mi easy in 19ish @ 134bpm.
Middle 4mi pushed harder in 32:17 @ 154bpm
Last 2mi was supposed to be easy, but I just wasn't recovering, so HR remained elevated @ 154 avg.

Overall, a tough run where I just blew up my HR on the hills. Not a lot of oomph in my legs, and it was hotter than shit this morning, too. I'll be glad to take 2 days off before hitting some great trails on Sunday!

Up to Kirkwood Park and back.
W/u - 13 min @ 134
Fartleks - 21 min @ 153
c/d - 12 min @ 148

I meant to run this morning, but I wasn't mentally committed to it last night.  I know better than to do that.  I can get something done this evening, still.
But the nice thing is that this morning Bennett slept 'til after 7AM.  that hasn't happened in a LONG time, so i truly got the benefit of sleeping in.  that almost never happens. if i don't get up early to run, and she wakes at 5:45, i feel like I may as well be out running!

Feeling surprisingly peppy today.  I must have done a pretty good job of recovering. Runs of 8+, 9+, and 16+ in the same week has to be some kind of record for me!
Good fueling, hydrating, stretching, and pacing get the credit I think.

4x Queeny

well, nobody would go run a new trail with me this weekend, so i went somewhere i was comfortable and wouldn't have to worry about.
I took the first loop really easy, and even walked a few strides of the steepest hills just to keep the HR in check. THe 2nd loop I bumped up to high Z1. the third loop was tougher as it god warmer, but I kept it mid Z2. The last lap was sort of a "cool down" so I dialed back the effort, but the HR was still a little elevated.
My stomach held up nicely on just water, a few sport beans, and a Hammer gel. My legs were in some pain the last lap, though.

I stretched well at home, got good recovery food, and was able to put some ice on my knees as preventive measures.
