Green rock trail near 6 Flags. Good stuff. Got lots of ticks on me, tho, so I need to remember the DEET next time! This was some serious trail running, and I haven't had this much fun running in a long time. I got to hang with a few VERY seasoned ultrarunners. It was fun to listen to them about their 100 milers, etc. WOW.

2xQueeny - my new favorite thing!
w/u - first (front) 2 miles of the trail easy @ 9:10ish pace. very hilly.
main - one complete 4.05mi loop at 7:40 pace in 31:00! my HRM crapped out on me, but it was probably mid-Z2ish.
c/d - backside of trail, last 2 miles. mostly ascending @ 7:50 pace.
I saw 6 deer this morning, all within spitting distance. I didn't spit at them, tho. They keep freaking me out because I can't tell they're there until I'm almost right next to them. Also saw one HUGE hawk. I love hawks.

Feeling pretty good today, so I'll try to get out for a few miles tomorrow morning.
Big picture, I think training for a long trail race will require some weight/core work on my part, as well as a focus on stairs and probably hours in the pool using water as resistance. it worked for my IM marathon!

yup, i'm a little stiff today. i didn't do nearly as good of a job of recovering as i should have. such is life on the weekend. i'll take it easy today, get the lawn cut tonight, and hopefully be back in action tomorrow.
