It's not the jeans...

The following equipment is nearing replacement:

April 8

Run
  • 1h 48m
  • 10.60 miles
  • 10m 11s /Mi

Kept thinking I would bail out of today's run, but by just taking one more corner at a time I made it through. Thanks to great running partners today!

April 7

Bike
  • 1h 00m
  • 13.15 miles
  • 13.15 Mi/hr

Well, it FELT faster! What a fantastic first outdoor ride of the year...sun, warm enough, mostly clear roads...

April 5

Swim
  • 35m
  • 1500.00 yards
  • 02m 19s /100 yards

Not my best day - water felt heavy and I felt like I was flailing and not getting anywhere. Still, something is better than nothing.

Leg was sore from yesterday's fall so I opted not to run today...

Spin class. Yow! It was a good one today.

Sport
  • Equestrian
  • 1h 00m

Well, it was actually 59 and a half minutes of riding interrupted by about 2 seconds of aerial acrobatics followed by an unexpected impact with a fence and then the ground. According to my daughter, when Sam refused the jump I hit the fence and bounced off then both me and the fence hit the ground. The next attempt was successful and did NOT include any aerobatics. At least on my part.

The night started out eventfully with some huge thunder crashes and some interesting moments of equine panic. I was halfway through wrapping his leg and dropped the wrap to untie him. He then was terrified of the wrap flapping around on the ground. Of course every time he moved it would move since it was still wrapped around his ankle. And since it was in the back, I couldn't hold him and unwrap him too... luckily there was someone with lots of horsie experience there to help.

The flat part of the lesson went great, I concentrated hard on riding correctly and Sam really responded. He seemed to be feeling good too.

Most of the jumping part went well. This was the first time I tried to canter him into a jump and since he has so much oomph I tried to take the jump a little long. Um.. Not a good idea, evidently. I had already committed when he decided to stop, so I violated one of the key principles of jumping... "Let the HORSE jump the jump." At least one of us got to the other side!

Even with the fall, it was a fantastic lesson!
