Travel day.
In Austin this morning. I have worked a bit already with a few more emails to get out then a workout before I shower. I will be home early this afternoon.
Overall, this whole trip was a waste of time and money. Today's visit will be worth it if we can get through all the presentation stuff and meeting details for the program I am working on. The guy I am visiting with is in the program. I am happy to have the chance to meet with him prior to getting his abstract submitted. Part of the emails this morning have to do with this program. I will be so happy when this thing comes and goes!
I am pulling out the networking plan and looking to really pump up my efforts to find another job.
Paleo day 6
Breakfast: 2 cups of black coffee
Lunch: Thai food, clear noodle soup with chicken, I didn't eat the noodles, chicken and veggies
snack: 1 small avocado
Supper: carne asada with pico de gallo and avocado slice, 1/4-1/2 cup charro beans (not paleo)
January 5
Travel day.
I made it to San Antonio on time and set to go. Turns out this meeting/walk through was a waste of TIME!!!! I could have easily stuck to my original travel plans and skipped this without missing a beat! Thankfully, I had a great visit with my friend/customer and then headed north to Austin. I was also able to meet up with a friend here in Austin that I met one time before. We had a great visit. No drinking which was not a bad choice and I was back in the room before 10 pm.
Paleo day 5:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon crumbles (jack in the box, YUCK)
lunch: ha, ha. salad with lemon juice dressing, thai chicken soup, zucchini/carrots, a little shrimp. This buffet was not a good choice for me since most was either deep friend, soy based, or sugared. I did as well as I could.
Supper: 10 oz steak with double veggies, salad with olive oil/vinegar as dressing
January 4
warm up:
400M run
bear crawls
crab crawls
leg swings
arm stretches with bar
1)logs!

log carry 40 yds with a partner, x1
WOD: Cindy
scaled for me since I don't do pull ups yet, ring rows
20 min AMRAP
5 pullups
10 pushups
15 squats
10 sets completed plus 5 ring rows, 10 pushups and 7 squats
So today I had a plan for travel based on getting to Austin for a meeting on Friday. Emails sent, responses returned, good to go. Then I received an email from one of my manufacturer's. "Can you be in San Antonio tomorrow by 10 am for a prebid meeting?" Ugh. Had to turn right around and cancel my original plans for Thursday and reset to San Antonio calls. Thankfully, I managed at least one call in the afternoon in SA following the prebid meeting. I really hate making last minute calls on people. Yet another reason why I would like to not do this anymore.
My plans for the day:
Crossfit-done
Laundry-done
Pack-done
Prep for bid mtg-done
Cook-done and I will take some with me for the road.
Finish eblast draft for distribution-not done, more online chatter about this right now so I hope to get this done tomorrow night in the hotel
I did the crossfit workout at 10 am so I could have the rest of the afternoon and evening to get my shit together. I will need to be on the road by 6 am tomorrow. I started all this planning with the hopes to be able to attend the Whole9 seminar in Austin on Saturday. But the seminar sold out while I was waiting on my Austin appointment to confirm. Oh well.. Maybe I can catch this seminar somewhere else along the way.
Off to be productive. Have great day!
Paleo day 4

January 3
warm up:
400M run
25 wall balls, 6# ball
Endurance WOD:
3x800M run
3 min rest
3-5 sec splits if possible
1)4:31
2)4:35
3)4:42
not too bad!
stretching, rolling after
5 jumping pullups just to do them
Back to life! I have a million little things to get done today, plus a handful of bigger projects to get underway. Thanks to a wonderful hubby, he started the laundry yesterday so I only have a couple loads to knock off today. I love him!
I might go to crossfit later today for an endurance wod. I have yet to participate in one of these workouts so I might go just to see if I can survive. This one will be run based so I might be ok. I am loving this group of people and I love the challenge crossfit presents everytime I show up at the gym. Still giving some thought to heading west for the Whole9 seminar on Saturday. If I can set up a few appointments for Thursday in San Antonio and one on Friday in Austin, I could write off the expense of travel over to business. Then it's just the cost of the seminar. Thinking this one over.
Ok, off to get started. The endurance wod is not until 4:30 so I have the day to get done what needs to be done.
Paleo challenge day 3:
Breakfast: green eggs and ham (bacon, kale, green onions, mushrooms, scrambled with eggs)
Lunch: pork steak and steamed brocolli
Supper: no pasta, no cheese lasagna with eggplant, spinach, squash, bell pepper, spicy italian sausage, brussel sprouts
ha,ha, I was just looking through my past years logs and made a comment about my weight, like "such a fat ass". Hubby leans over and says, "your ass is really starting to look nice". I guess crossfit may be having a positive impact!
January 2
Prowlers: 4x20 yds
1: 20kg
2: 20kg
3: 50kg
4: 50kg
WOD:

Deadlift, 20 kg
Hang power clean, 20 kg
press (any)1: 20kg, 2 and 3: 10kg
400M run

Nice day. The boy and I went to the crossfit gym for the morning session then home for lunch. We got cleaned up then heading out for some shopping. He was having a fit to spend his Christmas money. We split the trip so I could get to Kohl's for a little stuff that I needed then we went to the mall. Ugh. We had a great time and he got what he was wanting.
Day 2, Paleo Challenge

Lunch: grilled chicken tender, veggie salad with cilantro/lime dressing (carrots, celery, cucumber, green onion, bell pepper, brocolli)

My friends

Processing your request, please wait...
It's game day here in Houston. News coverage started at 6 am and will continue through kickoff, ugh! We plan to watch the game, but I will turn off the tv until then. We also have plans to move some things today for my daughter so we'll be distracted for a bit anyway.
I signed up for a crossfit workout but my right shoulder is jacked and I am thinking I might need to take some time off. It's more than just muscle soreness. I know exactly when it happened so I guess I will be a patient this week instead of a gym client. Hopefully, Thea can help me out and I will be back at it soon.
It's also the first day back for the local farmer's market. I will head there after 10 am and do a little shopping. It will be a seasonal based menu this week. I am not feeling deprived at all though it certainly makes me think harder about what I am eating. Travel eating is a challenge but with a little more thought, should not be such a big deal. The changes in my GI tract make it so worth it for me, it's easy to keep on track. It's funny, I am very committed to this 30 day challenge. More so than I have been before for things like this. After this month, it should be a natural way of thinking and eating. The other bonus, I am down 4#'s since the 1st.
It's going to be warm and sunny here today. Very spring like. Without a crossfit workout, I will just go for another long walk sometime today.
Have a great weekend out there. Go TEXANS!
Paleo day 7
Breakfast: 2 strips of bacon, 1 fried egg, 2 cups of black coffee
Lunch: mixed greens salad with lots of veggies, the last of the no pasta, no cheese lasagna
Supper: grilled country style pork ribs, no sauce, roasted sweet potato fries, crab/chayote squash bake (a little heavy handed on the spice but still very tasty)
Farmer's market haul: meyer lemons, rio red grapefruits, tangerines, mixed salad greens, arugula, two different types of kale, spaghetti squash, fresh eggs, grass fed ground beef, honey for the boy
