Round two! Interview day. Interview went very well. They will make their decision this week. I think they might be a little scared of me. They are looking for a team player. One of the interviewers was concerned that I might be too independent to be happy playing within the team paradigm. I hope my being an independent business owner doesn't crush my chances.
Crossfit first then home to get ready for the big day. I am excited and feeling pretty good about this job.
Breakfast: fried egg over tomato and bacon chunks
Lunch: grilled chicken salad
Supper: pork ribs, fried cabbage, asparagus, tomato herb salad

It's been a long weekend. Hubby had to go to the er on Friday afternoon to recieve blood. Long story short, he was not happy but he had to stay. His blood levels have been low for weeks and they have been making adjustments to his meds to try to stop this from progressing but to no avail. The bloodwork from Friday mornings draw was the final one before something had to happen. We needed more info before we headed to the hospital about the whole process, it would have eliminated much confusion and crankiness for my husband. Anyway, they finally admitted him, and around midnight they finally hung the first bag of blood. He got two pints overnight with additional fluids as well. He was severly dehydrated and anemic, extremely low blood pressure. Then his kidneys decided to get in on the action and they kept him overnight Saturday to make sure they could get his kidney function going well again and also give him yet another pint. It's been a long weekend for us all. He's home now with a ton of follow up stuff to get worked out and set up in the next couple of days. Most of this is a direct result of the hep c treatment. He's also hypertensive and no one told him to stop taking his blood pressure medicine during all this time of adjustments. This is something he and I spoke of a couple of weeks ago, but he never brought it up to the liver dr's office. Anyway, they stopped one of the drugs for now and we need to take daily pressure readings for the next two weeks. The best news from all this; the viral load is ZERO!!!! The drugs are working. Now we just need to make sure they don't hurt him too bad to get to the end of the protocol.
I am tired, a little cranky myself and ready for a good night's sleep with my hubby happily snoring next to me.
Second job interview tomorrow at noon.

I have a full day planned to make up for losing an entire day yesterday. Cooking, cleaning, yardwork, on and on.
Of course, my plans will only last until my daughter calls needing a ride to get to the rental car company or whatever we need to do to deal with the aftermath. My daughter spent her day tracking down the other insurance folks to get the rental car situation set up. It took all day and two calls to the adjustors supervisor to get the guy to return a call. We are trying to work through his insurance but it's beginning to look like we will just have to pay the deductible and let our insurance run with it. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
So, I am off to get started.
Breakfast: fried egg over diced tomato and bacon
Lunch: tuna salad with toms, avocado, green onions
Supper: pork ribs with apples and sweet potatoes, mashed cauli, sauteed squash and onions

5 pullups, scaled to ring rows

5 dead lifts, 45KG
9 rounds + 3 dl, I was trying to get 10 rounds, close!
The day was moving in the right direction; crossfit, hobby lobby, kohl's, then my daughter called. She had another flat, no spare since she was riding on her donut and would need a ride after the tow truck picked her up. So, I finish up my shopping, begin the check out process and she calls back, after getting back in the car to get the tow truck underway, her car was hit from behind by a guy who didn't see her flashers and got caught in the lane by traffic. He did swerve to miss her but caught the left rear and shoved the car about 50 ft foward and into the other lane. My daughter is ok, whiplash of course but alive. If she had been outside the car she would have been dead. There was another car, an off duty sherrif, who saw her go flat on the interstate and was actually backing up to her car when she looked up and noticed the other driver behind her was not going to make it. She layed on the horn and he quickly pulled forward to avoid the collision. What a mess! It took 2-3 hrs to wait on the state troopers to get there to actually write up the report. Pearland police were on scene pretty quickly, thankfully, to keep the now stranded cars and people safe from the crazy ass drivers exiting the interstate. I took her to the er so she's been checked out and medicated. She's stiff and sore but will be ok. Now we just have to wait to see what they do about the car. We are working to get rid of this car and in fact, she had just come from looking at cars when this all happened. Maybe they will just total it and we can just start fresh.

Processing your request, please wait...
Mowed front and back.
Worked in the garden.
Cleaned the back patio.
Planted some odds/ends in bigger pots.
More to do tomorrow.
Today I shall mow the yard, both front and back, trim the hedges and try to weedeat everything that needs it. Then move inside to clean up this house and finish all the laundry. I am feeling behind on everything since spending much of the weekend running back and forth to the hospital and dealing with the boys events.
I am trying to remain positive about the job. Part of me feels that I am still in the running but the other part thinks I may just be too much for the "team" and will get passed over. Can you not be independent and strong and still be part of a team? Is it just too intimidating for others? Yes, I am ambitious but I don't want to take over anyones job! If I don't get this gig I will really have to rethink my goals and definately rework my resume. Or just dive into the paloe food idea and keep moving! Hubs is worried and I know it so getting a "real" job will make life easier around here. I hope I hear something soon, one way or another.
Breakfast: fried egg, bacon, sausage
Lunch: 2 chicken patties with cole slaw (binged on some bbq potato chips, ugh, bad choice!!!)
Snack: liverwurst with mayo and mustard, no bread
Supper:roasted chicken breast, cole slaw, zucchini and onions
No call today! I may go crazy waiting this one out!
