Tonight I have been cruising the 'challenges' forum. We're about to create a challenge app that tracks the workouts of the challenge. I need to make sure that the app will fit with most challenges...though it appears that We will still need to allow 'regular' untracked challenges like current.

I have been following Fred's thread.  It's good information, we are almost done with several of the mobile recommendations and plan to go live Friday.  Mobile will be a continual evolution as we are essentially building a new site from the ground up.

As far as the other stuff: forum consolidation, moderation, etc, I have been thinking about it believe me.  It's a great thread.
