Late Saturday night, we took the site offline and installed the database from the temporary server we were using to the BT server with new drives.  We applied a few fixes to the uploader and it seems to be working now.

Site went down 7am.  We had an unexpected complete drive failure.  It actually affected the backup (raid) drive as it was showing a few 'errors.' Part of what took us many hours to get back up online was downloading the database to verify the errors, if we could use that drives data or we need to install an older backup the prior night. We then had to schedule the datacenter to swap the bad drives for new ones. So not to to risk installing a database with issues, and to get the site up ASAP, we, in the meantime, readied an extra server to allow us to operate a day or so before we got the new drives checked and ready.  We eventually got back up around 3pm.

This was one of the longest times we were down in our 10 years.  There are a few things we learned that could have shaved a few hours off of being down, but nothing to prevent it.  Mechanical drive failures just happen.

We went live with another site update today.  Two steps forward, two steps back but we eventually go it.  Several thing including updating your training log settings, 'real name' saving, album and race photo thumb-nailing and resizing, mobile log icons and bug fix for weekly totals, some race listing issues for duathlons, nutrition bronze+ member extra minigraph, and possibly the 'updated threads' got fixed.

This weekend I need to re-assess where we are at as far as bugs, enhancements and new features and how it will fit in with our mobile redesign.  We, like most others, have struggled with mobile.  We have a decent mobile website though the apps aren't the best.  We are about to update that and then mobilize the desktop site - something which we just couldn't do in this redesign.  It's coming.  Mobile is the future and we will get there.
