I rode over to the Y to take a swim. I was on my 1990 Specialized Rockhopper - which is tricked out for biking with the kids. What that means is - permanent saddlebags for carrying gear, and cages on the pedals, a mirror, grippy tires.

It snowed on the way home! The roads are pretty sandy, icy and lots of frost heaves.

What a gorgeous day. Today, I start a 10 week sprint plan to get me ready for the Marblehead tri in May, and then so I will be in good shape for our vacation to Portugal.

The distances should be easy for me to hit - I just want the discipline for the swimming portion.

It would be nice to improve my swim times!

Today is son's birthday party at Harris Farm - sledding and skating. It should be a beautiful day! I hope the 15-or-so kids are well-behaved... Party went well! It is a warm day here in Maine. The skating pond was not cleared - the snow was too slushy to clear. But the sledding was excellent. The kids had a blast. The big hit was when the girls went into the dairy barn and saw a cow pooping. There was lots of squealing and laughter. Hey, a party can't get much better than steaming cow poop! The kids were soaked with sweat and slushy snow. Several kids tried our XC skis on the sledding hill. A great time. I am relieved it went well. The only case of misbehavior was when one boy was on the 2nd floor deck of the lodge, and he spit on a car parked below. Fortunately we nipped that in the bud before all the kids started doing it.

I had a client in the morning that was about half-way to the Y, so I brought my swim stuff. I was sitting in the meeting thinking "Enough talking, I want to go swimming!". I did mostly drills. Towards the end I measured 100's
