Was supposed to run the whole HM course last weekend with a friend who's also doing the race but I had to bow out due to blisters from hiking. So we did it today instead. I'm a little worried that this was too close to the race to run this far (8 days out), but it's over and done now. I'll just do a few short runs this week and then it's race time next Sunday!

Hardly any time before pool closed, so jumped right in with a vigorous effort. Pretty tiring; was hoping to clear 26 laps in 13 minutes and I did. Tried really hard to keep the pace steady and not drag in the second half.

Intended to do 1/6/1 at 9:10 to 9:20 pace, but quickly realized that I was not going to be able to beat the rain. I amended it to 1/3/1-ish @ 9:00 pace and still caught a few sprinkles at the end. No big deal. Maybe I will do a couple extra easy miles later in the week to make up the difference.
