EZ recovery run

I didn't had a good night of sleep so I decided to skip the 5 miler and test my LT some other day. I think it was the right choice cuz the short recovery run was a bit challenging as the legs felt off.

Long run. It was a bit cold and windy on my way back but overall a great run. Legs felt good, I felt comfortable and running relatively easy!

BTW, I registered for FL 70.3... 4:15 hrs, here we go!!! I think I am been very ambitious with that goal due to my 3+ month layoff period but I’ll shoot for that and adjust it later on based on how training develops in the next 12 weeks…

Work work and more work but I am planning to go swimming at lunch and go for a long run this PM. Nothing too exciting to report for the moment, although I decided to do a 1 week training camp in prep fro FL 70.3 I'll travel to Cancun on the 3rd or 4th week of March to just swim, bike and run every day and work on my sun tan ;) If anyone wants to join you'll be more than welcome to tag along and enjoy the Caribbean Sea!

Got my swim in. I managed to do at least 3000 yds although towards the end I was cramping cuz I didn't drink enough fluids before. Also my arms are a bit tired so I'll take it easy the next few days swimming all easy.

Work is crazy busy today but I am taking my lunch earlier to go swimming right now! That will relieve some stress and get me ready for a LONG day at the office.

BTW, for lunch I cooked: Broiled chicken breath strips on honey mustard sauce, brown rice with ginger on vegetable broth and sauté mixed vegetables with a tea spoon of truffle oil. Cal 443, Fat 7 gr, Carb 79.5 gr, Protein 36 gr

I REALLY need to get my head out of my a$$ and start swimming early AM other wise I am scrambling fro time to get in as many yds as possible in one hour. But since I have to equate in shower and walking to the pool I really have like 50 min (I do my warm up/cool down at my office before an after heading out ;)) Anyway, I'll try my best as of next Monday...

trainer ride done! I really wanted to just skip it cuz I wasn't motivated at all, but I convince my mind to spind at least for 20 min, then to just do one interval, soon enough I finished all 5 intervals and rode 1 hr. Now feeling happy I did and felt tired in a a good way

ugghhh, this AM I lost my blackberry with tons of important personal and work related info. I left it on the cab to work and I call right away (like 5 min after I got off) and reported to the cab company. I've been calling my cell and using the Nextel chirp option and NOTHING. The cab company is saying the driver hasn't report anything but I know it was on the back seat as I was typing emails on my way to work... Anyway I did a recovery swim and that was good :)

GOT MY PHONE BACK! The guy called me at work (since I called my phone several times) and told me that he called the cab company to report the phone and let them know he was dropping it at my place later on. Those a-holes at the cab company could have passed the message but of course they didn’t care. And I was coursing and thinking bad about the driver earlier today (shame on me)... I felt so thankful I gave him an Amex gift card I had laying around cuz the guy really didn’t had to drop it of.

22:10 min / 1:23 min per 100Yds

Another day in which I am feeling blah. I am not feeling sick like a few months ago but certainly not feeling good. I've been having trouble sleeping hence I am tired,  not very motivated and on top of that the weather sucks! I know, whine whine whine, but I hope is just one of those days...

Ok I dragged my ass to the pool and somehow convinced Jorge to do a swim 1500 yds Time Trial. I haven't done one in a while and I need a benchmark to figure out where I am standing compared to last year. I was hoping to at least avg 1:25 min per 100 yds... I managed to avg 1:23 for 1600 yds. Oh well I'll take it, specially after only been back to the pool for just 4 weeks after the 3 months layoff.  BTW DK, for lunch I cooked sobe noodles with chicken breast & oyster sauce and steamed vegetables. For dinner I am still debating… (Yup I am been a show off with my culinary skills :))

Well I ended up rallying the rest of the day after my swim. Lot of work but managed to complete two projects and after work I went for a zone 2 run. Since next Sunday I’ll be running a 5 miler as a time trial to test my FT I decided to add some strides just to remember how painful it will be to run a fast pace for a while... it will be tough, OUCH!

Active recovery day - I am debating whether to do an easy swim or run but I'll play it by ear depending on work. Last night I cooked tuna sushi and vegetable soup for dinner but something unsettled my stomach and I couldn’t fall asleep until like 2:30AM. I am certain it was due to this rigid diet and since I used some hot spices for the tuna my stomach isn’t use to it anymore… uuuggghhh. I’ll be meeting with another gastrointestinal specialist because even though I’ve managed to exercise and feel better again I am not 100% sure I am doing the proper changes to either fix/control this for the long run. Anytime I eat something out of the diet, even a tinny little thing I feel like crap instantly… But besides that I feel grreeAATTT! :)

Edit >>> Ok, ok ok, you funny people... when I wrote that I cooked sushi, I meant prepare it, put it together, make it with my own hands! After all, you do have to cook the rice and seasoning the tuna! :)  FYI - for tonight 'll be cooking bison steaks, spinach salad with goat cheese & ginger dressing, steamed mix veggies and brown rice. Who is in for dinner???

I ended up doing a 30 min recovery ride. Today was an unload day in the middle of my 16 ON day cycle so it is all good. The goal was to do ANY training very easy. Tomorrow back to training normal and I'll hit the pool early AM!
