THANK YOU EVERYONE for your awesome support!
I am here at the ariport sitting waiting for my flight back home enjoying the fun times at the gate because I am camping like Tom Hanks in that movie :-)
Well, it seems I REALLY busted my knee yesterday running into the water at the beach start of the swim. while running I landed on a hole in the sand and I hyper extended my knee in the opposite direction and I felt some sort of pop right away. Right now I can barely walk and it is just painful. I hope I didn't do further damage by running on it for the half marathon and just blocking the pain with advil, and even though I prob should have DNF at the end of the 1st loop I could NOT allow myself to quit when I had the BEST jockstrap support team there!
I want to thank Jeff, Trixie, Shannon, and in particular Jess for the good times and fantatsic support. They put up with me before and after the race and that's just pretty cool. I'll have to repay the favor soon and I hope we can get to hang out in another race, cuz DAMMMM, I had a blast! It was also very fun meeting Dan and the Mac (both are fun BT material for sure!)
Oh well, I'll try to go to the MD asap and hopefully I'll be back to training in a matter of weeks.
UPDATE - I am finally home and happy to be resting on my bed, but my knee seems swollen and the pain is getting worst :( I have a MDs appointment early AM but if the icing it and the tylenol doesn't work I'll go to the ER.

Yesterday turned into a day off but I manged to finish a lot of work at the office and get things ready for my trip. today I'll hit the pool and jump on the trainer this PM before packing my bike. I can't wait to go to a sunny and warm place because this New England weather F-ing blows and I am done with it...
Nice short intense swim. I managed to complte most 50s on :34-:33 sec. I was feeling kind a crappy earlier and now I am rejuvenated. It is amazing how a complete day off seems to be counterproductive for me instead if just having an easy recovery session!
steady ride on trainer before packing bike :)

My friends

Processing your request, please wait...
Something very strange happened this AM. I wake up with the pain in my knee and unable to walk properly (I am the gimpy tornado!) but when I jumped in the shower I start stretching a little both legs cuz I am stiff from the race. I am not sure how I moved/bended my right knee but all of the sudden I heard/felt this big CRACK! (Similar of how your bones crack when you go to the chiro) Anyway, I got off the shower and walked to my room and still it was uncomfortable and somehow painful to walk on it but nowhere near the pain I experienced yesterday. I am heading to the MD very soon to find out was the real issue (hopefully nothing and I can get back to training ASAP :))
UPDATE: I am waiting on the MRI results but the MD suggested maybe a tear on the meniscus which is NOT encouraging based on what I just read about it and the healing process! I’ll tri to not freak out until I get the official diagnose… (This fucking blows though)RR of my now not so smart race is up...
