Plan was for 2 hr ride, taking kinda as LSD. I felt really good out there today, I rode a little harder than what I shouldve, but it felt really good. Wind was a little pushy today, but no big deal. Good ride! Couldve easily went further.
Brick Run
Calories: 489
1st brick of the season! Plan was to do an out and back w/ Z2 out and Z3 back. For some reason the footpod wouldnt pick up so I decided to do a loop on the trail down to the soccer fields and then back, which is about 5.2 miles. So, distance is an estimate, though, I think its pretty close. Overall the trans run felt realy good. I got my legs back after 2-3 minutes and I was good after that.
I fell back in love all over again with triathlon today (not that I ever wasnt in bed with it). I love bricks.
Got another burrito in me for lunch today. AND turkey soft tacos w/ gauc for supper! Good eatin' there.
I also went and picked up my donkey gear today. Holy crap is that stuff awesome. A lot better than what I expected. Sweetness!!

8x25y Lead-hand sweet spot
Swim felt good. On the 50s, they started out :40-:42 and slowly ended at :43-:44. Swam those really hard since the next 50 was recovery. Lead-hand sweet spot drill clicked today too. The secret - arching your back. When I would arch it a little everything would float up. If I relaxed too much, I would start to sink. The 8x25y drills was extra that I threw in there cause I wanted to work more on that drill.
T minus 1 day to endurance burrito eating. I really need it too. Lastnight I fell asleep and woke up about an hour after. My stomach was BURNING I was so hungry. I tried to ignore it and just go back to sleep cause I didnt want to get up. But couldnt. So I got up and mowwed down 2 med. bowls of cereal (frost mini-wheats) and went back to bed. That really hit the spot last night, though it probably wasnt the best thing to eat before going to bed.
Got some decent stuff for this weekend. 2 hr ride followed by 20 min transition run on Sat. Then heading down to fondy/EL to meet up with TriDDS to get my donkai schwag. Then a 90 min ride on Sun w/ a swim after that. Be sure to stop by PeterAK's blog and wish him luck! Good luck at Wildflower Scary Pete!

Legs felt a little heavy on this run. Just kinda felt like I was pounding down more than usual. Felt decent though and I kept the first phase in mid/high z2. Felt really good on the tempo session. Actually better than on the first 1hr of the run. It felt good stretching out the stride on that. Was supposed to go 20' min, but had to cut it short or a joining of the Dookie Club wouldve ensued. Eh... I jogged the last 5 min home.
Lastnight I realized that Saturday is Cinco de Mayo. So, to celebrate I will consume a burrito bigger than my head. Any other donkeys care to join?
Endurance run tonight. Kinda.... 90 min worth.

Shaved off a little from the beginning and end of the mapped route for WU/CD. Kept the gearing harder than what I would ride these normally for more of a workout. I like tough rides like this. Legs felt really good on the climbs.

Got some TI drills to try from Joel. I did the lead-hand sweet spot drill and realized how out of balance I am on my sides. Gotta work more on that. The main sets felt good. After the 2nd one though my back started to get a little weak and I could tell it was affecting my swim perf. Im sure thatll come around with a little core-work and more time in the pool.

I was a little bummed since its such a nice day out today and I had to do this on the trainer. So, I set up the trainer out in my driveway and did the session outside! Distance is an estimate.

5' jog home after drills
Ran w/ Jason H. Just took it easy as today is an easy run. I thought today was supposed to be a Z1 run, but after looking at the plan its supposed to be Z2. So, the run was mostly in Z1, except when the strides started then it dipped into Z2 and back down to Z1. Afterwards Jason and I did some drills. A mix of Joel's and Jason's. Good stuff.
Drills after the run. Did a mix of drills from Joel and some that Jason had.
WTF? Where did my avitar go? Im missing my my pic of the sweet potato and marshmallow hat too. Ugh... Fixed!
I have a trainer session tonight. Yes, trainer. Its a technique session so some ILT stuff is in there and doing those on the road would probably have me concentrating on not getting hit rather than form and technique. So, short technique session on the drainer tonight.

BT Core workout
So...the swim didnt happen today. I went to the pool. Started to get everything ready and change. Took out my towel, took out my...wait...wheres my suit? At home, thats where. Then I got really bummed out and went back home and just settled for some core-work. I couldve went back to the pool, but it wouldve been really packed and I wouldnt have gotten home until a lot later than what I wanted. I was really looking forward to the recovery swim. Just an easy swim, concentrating on form/technique and speed is not even on your mind. Oh well...Ill make up the lost swim time at my other sessions this week.
