Since the footpod is in for repair I had the Polar GPS. The thing about that thing is there is a noticeable lag. When I start an int and start running, it takes about 20 seconds before the speed picks up. So, Im not really sure if these are right...all the distances were a bit longer as well. (0.01 mi, which does make a difference in times). In the past Id usually come in right around 2:06 for each int, so they are pretty close. Had a head wind for all except two of those ints.

Are ya ready?! RACE WEEKEND!! I cant wait, its gonna be a blast. Sooo much to do though. I got the major stuff done with the bike, but still without the new der and s-bends...oh well. Amy is picking up the 808s tonight. I have to try on my wetsuit tonight (nothing like waiting for the last minute, eh) and get all my stuff laid out. I laced up my T5s w/ Yankz. I had Amy time me putting on my socks and shoes - 12 seconds. Ill take that!

Swimming w/ coach tonight.

Tomorrow I have a long ride w/ brick on tap - 4 hrs ride w/ 30' run. Then right after we are leaving for lake mills. Im going to try to pack and much as I can tonight so we have an easy send-off on Sat. Hopefully the legs will be a decent condition to rip off a good time on Sunday! ;) The weather is looking pretty good as well. I cant wait to kick off the season! Ill see ya all out there!

Was pretty [sleepy] tired getting to the pool. Warm-ups proved that, but it picked up pretty quick. Held a decent pace on the 1400m set and got exactly what I was shooting for 1:50/100m. Felt pretty good the whole time. Manager to neg split it as well without holding back during the first half.

Lastnight I fell asleep to thoughts of doing the transitions are Lake Mills. Low and behold I have a dream about IMWI. We were at the athletes meeting, but it was after 9pm the night before the race. During the meeting I started to freak out because I realized that I didnt bring any Gu, shot bloks or my Perp bottle - no bike nutrition!!! On top of that, I hadnt laid out anything in my transitions bags yet and the race was the next morning. The expo store was closed since it was so late and my whole dream I was freaking out about finding nutrition for the bike. When I woke up, I still felt like I was freaking out. Crazy stuff!

Got some of the bike stuff done lastnight. Cleaning of the drive train is sched'd for tonight as well as fixing the PM cable install. Hopefully I can start on the front der as well ;)

Shorter bike session tonight. Im going to take out the aero helmet to give it a whirl. I feel weird wearing that thing on a training ride.

4x10 - 4 position Glute Stabilization
3x10 - 5 lb DBs, Rotator Cuff exercises (2)

Feeling better today after getting that ride in lastnight. I was pretty pissy yesterday from missing those two sessions. Im over it. ;)

List of things I have to get done on the bike on or before Friday (in order of importance):

  1. Put carbon brake pads on - for the 808s Im borrowing ;) I got the Zipp Carbon/Carbon Pads so I can use them for aluminum and carbon wheels. Schweet!
  2. Get the 11-23 cassette on 808s (will have them Friday). The 12-26 is really getting annoying.
  3. Fix cable run install for the Ergomo PM
  4. Clean drivetrain
  5. Lube cleats
  6. Get new front der. installed
  7. Put on new s-bends (aerobars)

Yeah, its a lot. Not to mention all the other stuff I need to get ready. Hopefully Ill be able to knock 2-3 things off the list tonight.

More things added to our farm/orchard: Sweet potatoes, 2 pear trees (asian and ambroysia pears) and 2 peach trees. Theyre on order and will be planted soon!

Short run tonight w/ 15' of H-Z1 pace (6:10ish). Good stuff! Im looking forward to running this afternoon.

Weather: cold n windy

I accidently got the contact on the PM wet so it was freaking out for the first half of the ride. Time/distance is an estimate as a result. Made a couple of wrong turns on the route so it should be pretty close. Left the PM unplugged and got it working just before the hill repeats. Rode from Wrightstown to Heritage Rd and did 4 repeats. Thats a pretty beefy hill - 1.5 mi long and two different inclines at 11% grade. Good ride, albeit it freaking cold.

Reached a new speed record going down Heritage - 47.1mph! Fastest to date on the bike. ;)

SON OF A.... I woke up a bit before 5a when I was supposed to get up for to swim. I was still feeling in vacation mode so I opted for a little bit more sleep. Set my alarm for just a bit longer and low and behold the damn thing didnt go off and I slept for 1.5 hrs longer!! Turns out in my morning daze of pushing buttons to re-set the alarm I turned it off as well. Eh... So, my riding tonight. At least 40 miles cause Im feeling like crap for missing 2 sessions.

On top of that, my nutrition hasnt been up-to-par lately. So, getting back on track with EVERYTHING today.

This is going to be a busy week as well. Lots of stuff to get ready for Lake Mills - new front der., new aero bars, gotta change the cassette and clean my drive train on the bike. I have to dig out all my race stuff as well and get everything situated. Also, the water in Rock Lake is 60F! Thats freakin COLD! Hopefully it warms up a bit or my arms are gonna be frozen by the end of the swim.

I really did try to get the ride in today.  The roads were all wet from the storms lastnight when I woke up today. So, I planned on riding around 4ish.  The main goal of today was to get the planting of the garden done, but I had 3-4 other things I wanted to get done.  We started with the garden at 9:30ish and we finished at 6:30!!!!  So, the ride got nixed as well as almost everything else I was planning.  BUT! We got it all planted - all 2200 sq ft of it and 42 different fruits n veggies AND 6 new apple tree seedlings (4-6 more pear trees to follow soon) ;)  We had some good entertainment as well.  The neighbors were outside washing their horses and the horses didnt want anything to do with it.  They were all Neeehhhh-ing and getting worked up.  It was pretty funny to watch and listen to them.

Call me Papa Nature. ;)

We got to doing more work in the garden after I got done running and before we knew it the day was spent and no time for the ride (75') today. We got LOTS of work done today..more to do tomorrow as well....our garden is 2200 square feet and we have lots of stuff to plant still ;)

Since no pools are open on Memorial Day, Ill work the missed bike ride into tomorrow afternoon. Monday Update: NOPE! Had to finish planting the garden!
