The ankle is starting to feel a little better. Walking still has a pronounced limp. Work should be enjoyable today. I don't think I'll be making many traffic stops tonight.

Great... I'm doing a great run. I'm scorching my 3.1 mile path (for me anyway) and I'm feeling good still. I hit the turn take 3 steps and ***BAM***! I turn my left ankle over. Yup the one under the surgically repaired knee. It hurts pretty good right now so I'll be brief as I have ice and elevation waiting for me. I already took the ibuprophen and pounded a protien shake (lunch), so the rest of the afternoon will be in front of the TV with a (hopefully) numb left ankle.

Will get my run in the next 30 min or so. Just wanted to enter the weight info first;).

I haven't been going to the gym for the last month. I'm feeling the need to lift weights again so I think I'll set that up for tonight after work. Yesterday's run has my quads all upset and my left knee is still a touch swollen. I plan for another run tomorrow and then a 10 mile race on Sunday.
This has been an expensive week for us with my uniforms. I had to replace all my uniform pants because they are just disintegrating. That doesn't seem like a big deal until you look at the price we have to pay for uniforms. They are a special color with a special cut that only AZ DPS uses and that makes the pants worth $80/pair! The shirt without tailoring is another $80/each. then you have to have them tailored and buy the patches... you get the idea. They screw us ten ways from Sunday on uniforms.
Keesha seems to be doing much better these days. She is still in quite a bit of pain but she doesn't want to take the morphine anymore. I wouldn't want to take pure liquid morphine for any length of time either. That stuff is way too addictive. She’s very tired anymore but looks like she’s in better spirits. She is getting more excited about the 5K walk at the next Peace Officer’s Memorial and she even got 2 other Chiari-ans to do it wither her while they all wear the same shirt! It’s going to be great.

Our scale was definitely broken. I haven’t lost as much weight as I had thought. Damn that $10 scale! I thought I was getting somewhere with my weight. The new scale I know is dead on accurate and it does body fat %, great now I have more motivation to feel hungry;).
Well I have to resolve to the fact that my run is “My Run.” There is not much hope of ever running a sub 20 minute 5K and today is more proof. When I look back on it, Sunday’s run during the race was actually 2 minutes faster than my first triathlon back in March and I had knee surgery only 4 months ago. I might get a little faster but not much.
I felt really good about today’s run too. My hydration wasn’t the best to start out with but my body is getting more used to consuming food and water during exercise. My belly, although still large, doesn’t distend like it has in the past. Shoot look at my finish picture from Lake Havasu and compare it to Tucson’s finish. I’m the same weight but I don’t look bloated.

Today is a total rest day. I figured out what was wrong with my weight... the scale. I stepped on it a few more times and found it could be off by more than 5 pounds no matter how long you waited, 30 seconds or 5 minutes. Once it was different by 13 pounds! So we bought a new digital scale today. It was on sale at the bike shop of all places for nearly half off. So tomorrow I'll start weighing in again.
I finally got the official time splits from yesterday's race. I ran better than I thought. The bike time is really scewed because T1 and T2 are included in it. I could have sworn I swam faster than that but hey I can live with a 15 minute time for 750 meters. I guess I'll have to really. The time acutally spent on the bike was just over 34 minutes wich means my total transition times were less than 5 minutes. Not bad considering putting on a knee brace at T2.
I totally pigged out for food today. We went to Pizza Hut's lunch buffet and I am stuffed. Don't worry i'll get back to my regular diet tonight. And although today is a REST day I might just get in a lift after work;)...

This time came from my cycle computer. The official split includes T1 & T2 and was 38:02.
This time is only the run.
This time is only the swim.
0405 AM: Woke up on race day.
I seem to be really heavy today compared to yesterday. Of course I ate like a champion heavy weight boxer yesterday and I'm super hydrated. Last nights meal consisted of an enormous Chipotle Burito with pinto beans and chicken and enough cheese to choke a horse. And lets not for get the hot-sauce!;) I am sleepy but excited. It's my second Tri race and I just know it will be a good one. I'll re-blog and race report ASAP. The official timing won't be available for a couple of days but I will have an overall tonight.

Well I'm all checked in for the race. My Number is 175. Pima County Judge Susie Bacal will be racing there too. I'm in the middle as far as wave start. There are 10 groups with the slowest first and the fastest last. I'm in group 5. Ok lots of stuff to do. asta
Its one thing to not have the time to work out. Its a completely different thing to force yourself not to. Today is the day before the race and I CAN'T workout. So I'm filling my time going over my checklist and cleaning the house.
Today some personal things got put back into perspective. Some stress has left the house but there is still more to be done. Help is on the way though so the horizon looks good.
