Well the much anticipated ride to Crater Lake didn't occur. Actually, I didn't feel like riding alone. Besides, I spent seven hours on a pontoon boat trying to catch fish and got sunburnt. A mosquito tried to bite me and burnt its lips:) Seven hours on a boat is insane, fifteen hours to do an Ironman is what I call livin'

I just got word that Marathon and Beyond Magazine will be publishing a story I submitted. I wrote of my running of the Seattle Marathon seven months after open heart surgery in 2005 and submitted it back then. Its taken this long for all the necessary steps to be completed. Look for it in the Sept/Oct issue. This is my first paid magazine article! Can you tell I'm excited!

Early a.m. run around Diamond Lake. I'm somewhere above 5200 feet and the change in altitude is a little challenging but I'm happy with run time.
Bike ride around same lake was recreational and not meant to be a workout but altitudea did have its effects.

Morning swim and some strength training. Heading to Diamond Lake Resort for the weekend. Looking forward to a ride around Crater Lake (45 miles,) and a run around Diamond Lake (11 miles.) They have WIFI so hopefully I can stay connected.

I just got word the triathlon I was going to do on the 22nd has been cancelled. Bummer! Guess I'll have to find something else to do.
