On the main road through Varenna. Along Lake Como the entire way, very scenic but tight roads so hard to really take in the scenery. Was too worried about the traffic buzzing me.

Up at 9 am and checked out of the hotel by 9:45 am, after the free continental breakfast, to catch a 10:20 train to Varenna on Lake Como. We rented an apartment 30 m from the water for 5 nights. Train ride was scenic, and got into town about 11:30 am. Had a 10-minute walk or so to the apartment. Got settled and then headed out for some lunch. Was rather cold today; in long pants and a sweater, but the weather looks great for the rest of the week. Afterward, went to a small grocer and bought pasta and veggies to make dinner instead of going out again. So nice to have that option! Of course we did walk out for gelatto and (Tim) a beer afterward.

Rest day. Was going to get up and run before Tim got into town, but I wasn't able to sleep last night for some reason; finally fell asleep around 2:30 am so slept in til 9:30 am instead of working out. Had breakfast at the hotel and waited for Tim to arrive. His flight landed at 9:55 am so I wasn't sure exactly when he'd be in. Got to the hotel at 11:30 am. Relaxed with him for a while and then we headed out to get some food. Started POURING, harder than I have practically ever seen it rain, just as we found a place to eat. Stayed there a long time waiting for the weather to clear, but that didn't happen. Made a dash for a metro stop, which luckily was pretty close to the cafe we were eating at. We both did some work back in the hotel room and then later went out for dinner. So glad that Tim made it! Vacation begins :)

Felt like shit this morning and knew there was no way I was going to run. so easy spin to calm the nausea. But still extremely tired. I guess this is the extreme fatigue people talk about while pregnant. I am fine in everyday life, but the time difference and the extreme schedule, running around, etc, is just too much while pregnant.

Started feeling better around 3 pm. Mustered enough energy to run before a client dinner. I felt like if I didn't run, I was easily going to fall asleep for an hour, and I didn't want to do that.

Treadmill again.

Yay, finally a workout! Where we are staying there is a lot of construction and the roads are weird, so I opted for the hotel treadmill. A big part of me feels like this is the wuss way out, as I always try to run outside whenever possible. But this was easier and I was on a time frame. Needed to be out the dor by 9 am, as I was supposed to meet a client at 9 but they pushed it back so I had an extra 30 minutes.

Quick lift.

Going from 9:30 am to 9 pm tonight. I may be able to squeeze in an hour break this afternoon if I am lucky.

Luggage came in the middle of the night so I had stuff to shower and wear for our first day of actual work. Out the hotel door by 6:45 am for our board meeting and went til 8:45 pm without a break. Thoroughly exhausted.......being preggers with jet lag is kicking my ass. Had a nice chill late dinner with Gaynor and was in bed by 10:30 pm.

September 7

Since first flight was delayed we had to run thru the airport in Brussels to make our connection to Milan. We made it, thankfully!! But our luggage did not. Arrived at hotel by 2 pm, had a quick lunch, and then headed to convention center to pick up badges and help with the booth. Back in room by 6:30 pm and showered and ordered room service. I needed an easy, quiet night.
