Miles 1-2 I ran with my sister and niece, so were super slow (11:00/mile), but they peeled off at mile 2.3 and I pushed the pace for the next 2 miles (9:55 and 9:22). Mile 5 I started pretty winded, so said, "Back off to an easy pace you can run comfortably." Was happy to see that my "Easy" pace translated into a 9:40. If that's easy, I'll take it every day.

SO happy to see that my decision to NOT push for longer distance races (no HM or HIM for me this year) is translating into more efficient shorter runs.
