On treadmill

Trainer ride tonight. Riding with my BIL. If this works out, I will be riding with him every Thursday.

Went to my BIL's house and rode on my trainer. Good workout. The schedule called for 1 hour at a HR between 121 - 131 all over 85 rpm (53/17-53/15) then 10 min on treadmill at HR between 132-142.

I had a good time and my BIL was happy to have someone to workout with.

MAF test @ the track

My MAF test was supposed to be yesterday, but I had to do it today.

Warm up: 1 mile (11:29) avg HR 126

3 mile test at HR 152 (31:09)

  • Mile 1 (9:45:00) HR 151
  • Mile 2 (10:33:62) HR 152
  • Mile 3 (10:51:36) HR 153

Cool down (walking and stretching 14:31:65) HR 115

I was surprised by this test. I thought I would have to work harder to get to 152, then I didn't expect to have to slow down to keep that HR. I guess I'm in worse shape than I thought :)

Swim:

No swim tonight. The new Master's coach didn't show up :(

Easy spin since I didn't get in my run today. I'm taking tomorrow off from work and I am going to get in all of my workouts. I really hate starting out like this

On Friday I am tutoring a HS senior in physics. Holy crap! I haven't had physics in 20 years. I hope she doesn't fail because of me :(

First day of IM training today! Swim tonight

No swim tonight. The lap pool is closed for the week. There is a new Master's swim team at my pool AND if you swim with them, you can swim in the interactive pool this week (smart marketing ploy). So I will swim with them on Wednesday :)

Bike:

Easy ride on the trainer before the kids went to sleep.

On trainer. 1:00 at EA (HR 120-131) at cadence above 85. Another good workout. I haven't even started training yet and this weekend I have had some of the best / hardest workouts in years. I feel really confident about next season.

Good run for me: It was a short preview of next Saturday's run. I needed to stay at low MAF or around 142 bpm. Usually I settle into a pace and my HR rarely gets above 135. Today I had to push to get it to that point and once I was into it, I had to tone it back a little to get it to that HR.

November 3

Did you ever have one of those days? My class kept me until 1pm when I usually get out at noon. They somehow talked me into giving up my Veteran's day holiday to come in and babysit them while they work on their projects that they waited until now to start. Ok, not so bad. I go to the bank to deposit my college paycheck...and I lost it :(  Now I have to go back to payroll and have them void my check. Now it is way too late to drive to work to put in some overtime, so I go home. I check the mail and their is a letter from the college saying I need to get fingerprinted. Alright no big deal. I will do it at work...Nooooooo, I HAVE to go to a Livescan place and pay $20 for some high school dropout to fingerprint me, then pay $32 to send it to the DOJ. The old ink and paper system only costs $10 and they mail it! It is all done electronically and doesn't cost $32. I do this for a living. I can do it myself!

I'm beginning to hate teaching
