Sporadic moments of focus and purpose.

Planned run today instead of tomorrow.
I'm taking DadYou'reEmbarrassingMeCow to the Aztec basketball game tonight. It should be a good time. We are going out for dinner then I'm going to surprise her with the game. It should be a sellout and she has never been to a basketball game before. Earlier this year we went to a cheerleading exhibition an Aztec football game and she loved it.
Run:
Hard intervals today. It was suppose to be a track workout, but if you ran on trails or on the street then you did a 15-20 warm up then intervals of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 minutes. Each interval faster than the one before. So the 2 min was at marathon pace and the 10 min was at 10K pace. This was hard to stay focused but I feel good (now that it's over) I have to find the distance

OMG! There is almost nobody here at work today, including the receptionist. The only other examiner took the 2 new interns (liz and Jes) out of the office to train them where there was more room. That left me alone for about 30 min. When they returned, Liz yells out "Excuse me sir, would you please come to the front counter and service us!" I spit water all over my desk and Gloria and Jess were laughing their asses off. Gloria had to explain to Liz the meaning of what she just said. Gotta love interns
Planned swim tonight:
Swim:
Technique day-
Warm up - 500 swim, 300 kick with fins
Main set:
Cool down: - 200 swim, 200 kick

Good run today. I had all sorts of stories to write about this run, but somehow after I'm done running, they don't seem as interesting. The run still felt good. The legs are tired though.
On the plus side, I have lost a few pounds and am finally starting to feel like an athlete :)

Ride:
Lots O' climbing! I knew I was in trouble when they said we'll finish off with the easy climb up Torrey Pines, which is usually the biggest climb we do. We started in UTC, rode through UCSD then down Torrey into Del Mar. We went through Rancho Santa Fe (all big rollers) then we went out to Lake Hodgetts (One monster climb). The worst part of Lake Hodgetts was the headwind. At one point I was going down what had to be a 6 or 7 % grade and I had to put my bike in 39/21 and pedalled my legs off. If I had stopped pedalling I would have stopped moving, going downhill. We ended up in Escondido. After that, we turned and went through Harmony Grove and Elfin Forest (all rollers, but slanted downhill with a tailwind) which took us to La Costa. After that we hit the coast and did the coastline rollers back to Torrey Pines where we I crawled along to the top. When we got back to our cars I joked that today was a day where I hoped I left my running shoes at home, and guess what? I did. Nobody believed me, but I did. Oh well. Now I'm at work for the next 4 hours.
Bummer. I was supposed to take the all school picture for my daughter's yearbook on Monday. When I get to work today, I have a message from the DA's office just making sure I was going to be in court on Monday at the same time. I have no way of contacting either person this weekend so I will have to just miss the picture, even though I know I won't have to testify on this case. The DA's here are so lame. I just looked the case up on the computer and the trial is set to start at 9 am on Monday which means they still have to pick a jury if it is a jury trial. If it is a prelim then they still have to wait to get a courtroom. Either way they won't need me, but I can't call anyone and I can't just not show up

The last set was with fins and I swam it as odd 25's easy, even 25's hard because the little water polo guys showed up which means I would get the boot soon.
