Swim: my workout was supposed to be a 300 warm up, 20 x 100 (odd pull, even swim) plus a cool down, but I had a splitting headache. I don't know if it was the goggles, the new earphones or the fact that I was congested and could hardly exhale out of my nose that caused/ exaggerated the headache. I just couldn't put my face in the water.

I got in the warm up, plus 4 100's and some kickboard stuff

Today's workout is 1:30 on the bike, plus an optional 20 minute run. Luckily today is the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The leg leaving from work is 2.2 miles, so there is my 20 minute run. Two birds, one stone...perfect.

Rest week is over
Tonight's swim is surprisingly easy.
Next week starts the countless small loop workouts. 5.5 mile bike loops, 7 minute swim loops and 1 mile out and back runs.
The mental training starts next week

Swim:
warm, up: 300 swim and kick
Main set:
 4 x 300 (4:58, 5:09, 5:01 and 5:02)
Cool down: 200 easy

I just got one of these. It really makes the time go by fast. 5 hour swims will just breeze by :)

5 miles at e pace (10 min/ mile) with 3 x 100 strides in the middle

Nice easy run today. I really love how a 10 min/ mile is at HR 133, instead of 155.
Only one soccer game this weekend. Woo hoo!
Family night tonight. We are staying in and watching Paul Blart mall cop. Should be interesting...

Early morning ride. I just can't get my HR up on the bike. I think I need to talk to my coach...

Have I said how much I enjoy recovery weeks? Next week is going to suck.

It was supposed to be 10 minute ride, 10 minute run, 10 minute ride, 10 minute run. But the redheads got up and I didn't finish the last half.

Gave my final today. Done with teaching until the fall :)

I have to go by the college after work and pick up some stuff, so I WILL run on the track while I am there...even if other people are there.
Lauren has practice tonight, but we are not going. I had my heart set on a 3 week break and that is what we are taking. Last night's practice was set for 3:30 until 5:30. Somewhere around 6:15, they finished. 3 hours is just too long for these little girls, IMO.
 Run:

Warm up: 10:04 HR 127
800: 3:51 HR 154
800: 3:50 HR 153
800: 3:52 HR 155
400: 1:52 HR 148
400: 1:55 HR 149
400: 1:50 HR 154
200: :52 HR 142
200: :53 HR 151
Cool Down: 1.5 miles 16:20
lots of stretching afterwards

This was a good run for me. After the first 800, I new I couldn't keep this pace up. By the 3rd set, I had figured out just what pace I needed and was able to keep that pace. During the 400's, it was easy to keep that pace and by the 200's I felt like I was jogging.
