First time to try my Infinit drink on the bike. Did pretty good. I didn't drink quite enough for the hour 25 I was on if I go my calculation but didn't feel slosshy on my run either. Took one Gu at the end of the ride for the run.

VERY HOT Run.

Only did water with Electrolytes on run. Finished it off at the very end. Had to ration. Should of had more for as hot as it was.

Did one mile run/walk cool down.

As everyone heard CapTex got cancelled to weather.  I was tired of looking at rain and the kids had already worn out the pool so we left and headed for home.  We weren't 10 min out of Austin and it quit raining and became beautiful.  I was ok with the cancellation when things looked bad but with it being absolutely perfect I got slightly ticked.  Came home and did a combination to see how I really felt.  My gluts and legs felt great.  Look a little while to loosen up but did ok.

Hack..based on these times I shave 9 minutes off of my Cactus Challenge...IN the Heat of the day I might add.  So the other three minutes would need to come from my swim...(possible), transition (wouldn't have happened in the swamp we had today) and adrenalin (knowing the wolf was coming up behind me). :)    I would have thought more would have come off the bike but CapTex and the route I did today was tougher and my run well heck I'll take 8.20 after a bike any day !!!.  All in all a good training day.

I felt strong and feel like I'm improving.  Now I still deserve the recovery week that's ahead of me. Ha!

It was great to meet everyone at the BT get together on Sunday!  Dennis, thanks again for hosting the event.  It was perfect.

Well it's more baseball for me tonight.

Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day...have you hugged a veteran today :) !!

Recovery Day!!!!!

Lots of stretching and hydrating today.

Rained ....and Rained...and Rained last night.  Kept me up half the night worrying that it would rain too much that Steven wouldn't let me drive to Austin.  However, this morning was beautiful.  Hope it happens the same way for tomorrow.

Easy Zone 2 Recovery Run. Some lower leg pain but not too bad.

The rain stopped mid morning and it was beautiful the rest of the day.  However we will probably get more tonight or tomorrow based on how the clouds look.

Easy run tonight.  Off to do a little core work..

Well the Monsoons have begun....It is POURING today.

GNO was without tequila so I feel pretty good today but I'm definitely going to have to say something to the girls.  This is the second month in a row.  I starting to need my margarita "fix".

I have a 45 min run that if it let's up to a light rain I may do outside or I'll whimp out and do a tredmill run.

Hope everyone traveling this weekend has a good time and travels safe!!!

Combination Workout Run...
Run was iffy to start but felt good after the 2nd mile.
After I stopped though I could feel those muscles start pulling. Had an ice bath and will ice them again tonight.

HOLY COW!!!!  One month till BSLT!!!!!.....I think my heart rate just skyrocketed..either that or the donut I had for bfast just kicked in.

Hour Bike/45 min Run Combo on tap for today and probably in the rain....my reward...it's Girls Night Out again!!! yippee for me.

I will try and keep my whining short but it's easier to say than write and my blog is for my tracking too.  I realize you guys probably don't care about my aches and pains.

Bad News...

I hurt like hell today.... my quads are on fire and my achilles is well...killin me.

Good News... I think I know why and can fix it :)

About a month and a half ago I was having leg issues in my calves, achillies etc.. I went to an ART massage and she worked on it and several days later I went and ran 9 miles with no problems.  I was thrilled.  Two days ago I was cleaning the shower and squated down and low and behold both me legs screamed a warning.  That same pain was back.  I haven't been running tons and that same day I ran my tempo session and it was great so what's the deal????  Well, I started thinking about what I have been doing and not doing and any changes I've made and realized that I did a strenghth training session about three days ago and I added back in my favorite exercises..squats and lunges.  I think I have been able to narrow down the pain to the lunges and will stop doing them for the time being and see if it clears up.  In the meantime along with my squats etc..I worked the leg extension machine pretty good for my quads and I am one hurtin puppy today.  I will take it easy in my 2nd SS session for the week and work on the core and arms more than legs.

Hack....don't get too excited.  I have 4 days to flush this out.  Went to the Chiro on Monday and ART again yesterday so I'm still gonna be ready for ya!

We won yesterday's game 14 to 7...GO TEAM!!!!

1000 at Race Pace: IF I counted right I did 1:80 pace for the 1000 but if I was off a 100 it would be a 2 min pace. Either way I'll take it.

300 Cool Down.

They NEED to turn off the heater in the pool. I thought I was going to have heat stroke in the bath water today. Ugh.

Swim is done and ART at 4:15pm today....then it's off to baseball for Michael.  Wish us luck.  We didn't do so hot last week.

Everyone cross your fingers....they are calling for rain on Race Monday!!!--but then again they've been wrong all week.

CORE/ARMS/LEGS

We could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice I heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace.
Dr. Phil proclaimed "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and never finished."
So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off 23 Bud Lights, a bottle of Absolute, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel.
Please pass this on to those you feel might be in need of inner peace.
Ok, just in case the perscription for peace doesn't last long enough I also have a 1 hour track session with coach after work today.
Have a good one.
