I have no clue if I actually did 1500...It could have been 1300 or 1700..I couldn't stay focused on counting while thinking about everything I need to get done this week. But I like 2:09 so I'll take it.
Did 3 sets of 500.
Day Three of Taper:
Wanted to make today's swim a OWS at the Lake but kids have another track meet tonight and since I'm gone the rest of the week I want to be mom. Hoping hubby comes tonight too so he can drive home after. I'm going to be too pooped to pop by the end of the day. On the upside this is my last workout until I get to BSLT on Thursday.
Goal of the day...FOCUS...FOCUS...FOCUS...:)
Good Ride out Hwy 90. Cross winds and rollers.
This was a good run but pace is a little misleading. I thought from my house to the top of the hill was three miles and it was only 2.3. Hubby was waiting at the top to take me home since I was told STRICTLY NOT to do more than three and I always do what I'm told...right coach? lol. Anyway, I got a 3 minute reprieve before I finished up. Still did at least 8:40 to the hill.
Day Two of Taper: Last Combo.
Picked up Bike from LBS for a cleaning and race check. She's all pretty again. My ride Saturday made us both scary..I was dreading having to clean her and then coach had a brilliant idea. Let them do it!! Jesse (my mechanic) probably hates me now but I made up for it. Gotta take care of my boys. :)
Arms & Core...Couldn't help myself :)
Day One of Taper....OFF
Church...Movies with the boys...nap...finish work project...
tan outside....dinner...Start packing... :)Core Workout... (yeah, I know..I'm hopeless)
Chores...only a couple. From this I can taper. :)
Biked a good course today. Similar as I can get to BSLT. 15 miles of flats out and back and 14 miles of Hills. Hills were work going out and AWESOME coming back. About 10 min faster than out.
Unfortunately the difference between that course and BSLT is BSLT doesn't have the Downhills that you can work. They are either technical decents and you have to watch your speed because your about to turn at the bottom or you go down so you can go up. These were long downhills that you could tuck and go. At one point I was going 33 mph. Woo Hoo!!!!
Long Bike Over....TAPER BEGINS !!!
I know I'm going to gripe about this in a couple days but right now I'm very excited! Unfortunately I think all my workout time is going to be spent obsessing about the race and it's website :).
Oh yeah...I almost forgot...I got a HACK Nap!!!!
Long bike today....Long is still being determined. We had thunderstorms most of the night and more coming. Rain, not a problem. Lightening...Problem.
Good day to stay in bed but I'm finally out.
Coached swim session. A little disappointed in my swim tonight but it's nothing major. I was syked about the 50m pool but it was warm and had a current from the slides at the other end. I felt like I didn't know how to swim. Got better by the end but barely.
GO SPURS GO !!!
I need to find some energy today, Spurs game ran till way past my bed time.
Scrapbooks are almost done by not quite.
Ran errands for 4 hours and came home and ran right away. No HRM or Garmin. PRE was a 8.
Lots of errands to run after work so hopefully I can MAKE time to get in my 30 min run for today.
-LBS to look at bike fit one more time. Still trying to pin point leg pain after 60 min on bike.- No luck at the LBS. Owner and fitter is in Italy. I'll have to tinker with it myself and take a wrench with me on my long ride Saturday.
- Groceries...Good for me food. I've been slacking on my nutrition and I can feel it. Not to mention NOW is the time to fuel up.- done.
- Go see Grandpa. :)- Not a chore but did enjoy my visit to see grandpa tonight. - done
- Pick-up running bottle holder...more to follow.- done
- Finish Scrapbooks for work...this is going to be the death of me. No more VOLUNTEERING for me. On the up side it's keeping from obsessing about the race.- Tonight...if it kills me.
Hope everyone has a productive day!!
A little short but time is short tonight and I voted for the 15 min cat nap before going out. Legs are heavy from yesterday's run. Definitely over zone 3.
Decent swim this morning. Should have pushed a little harder but I'm tired from getting up early two days in a row.
I did come to the realization that a sleeveless wetsuit would probably be best for BSLT since the water will probably be borderline and I get so hot while swimming. In my last OWS I kept letting new water in just to cool off and the water was cold. Oh well... the pennies being saved now are already earmarked for the 101 race in Nov and CDA 08 both have to be paid for by the end of the month. Guess that's why we got plastic..grr.
Last night's track meet was a hoot. Neither of my kids are going to be track stars anytime soon but they had fun. It was funny, Michael did his first race (600m) and was majorly sucking wind and came over to tell me that he was a fast twitch kid and needed to do the sprints. I didn't have the heart to tell him that the 600 is a sprint. lol...he was referring to the 100 meter dash. Then later the older one decided he was slow twitch. Time will tell....
Still have an hour bike tonight. Update later...
