Last wod before the big games!
I did some heavy deadlift because I guess that's something you're supposed to do a few days before a competition?? Someday I'll ask why, but just did it this time.
In between the deadlift sets I was doing the CF Warm-up which is a workout in and of itself.
The actual wod was
4 rounds of
400 m run
35 squats
30 situps
25 push-ups
Push-ups always kill me and this was no different. I felt tired and sluggish. Hopefully that isn't a sign of how this weekend is supposed to go.
I'm leaving Thursday after work and driving the 6 hours to the hotel with a friend from the gym.
The first day of the games starts Friday morning. Yikes!

Practice for wod #5 on the 3rd day of the games. This is the only wod that all 6 team members do together. Girls first then guys. It's called a snatch ladder. The 3 of us start at 105# and have 50 seconds to each snatch the bar (ground to overhead in one movement, basically). then we have 10 seconds to move to the next station and then 50 seconds to snatch 115#. If any one of us cannot snatch the weight in that time frame, we are out, but the other teammates keep going. It goes up in increments of 10# each time.
We kind of practiced this. One of the team members is out of town and the other one has an injured shoulder (shit) so I was really the only one who did it although our alternate did it with me. I'm the designated "strong girl" on the team, so I'm expected to go the farthest. I knew going in I could definitely do the 1st weight and probably the second, but I'd never tried that much before. I actually did the 1st 3 weights today! I was psyched to get 125#. Then I went to 135#, and I crashed and burned, literally. I got it above my head kind of and then dropped it on my neck and went head first into the floor. Scared the living crap out of me and every one else in the gym. I'm ok, but it was not good. This wod scares me the most now.
My biggest fear next week is that the crowds and noise will get to me and I won't be able to concentrate. These wods take a lot of concentration. I must FOCUS!!

Warm-ups then did a row tabata followed by a pistol tabata (tabata is 8 rounds of 20 seconds hard, 10 seconds rest). This worked my legs pretty hard, then I did a 5 min max BFT wod (big fucking tire). That's 5 rounds of 5 heavy tire flips and 10 heavy slam ball (40#) This wod pretty much finished me off. I was 3 tire flips into the 4th round when time was called.
I was practicing row and pistols since that's in wod #2 of the games this coming Friday. That wod is a 4 person team (2 girls 2 guys)where each individual goes in order doing a 1000m row, 25 pistols and 15 hang cleans (135#). I'm last since I guess I'm the fastest cleaner and that's how it's supposed to go. The fastest rower goes 1st. I did this wod last week and did it in 8:29.
