10' Zone 1 + 25' Zone 2 + 10' Zone 1

Well, it's official.  I now have a voice again.  Still cracks a little but you can actually tell it's me on the phone.  My dad called yesterday and immediately told me he'd call later in the weekend b/c I still sounded so awful.  This is one weird cold.  My energy is there but the cough slows down the works.  I'm positive the workouts have helped so I'll be shooting for a 45 minute run later today.

Went out for the run and pulled up 1.1 mi in.  Left foot again.  YEOW!  Hobbled home for another mile.  I wish people would shovel their sidewalks.  I walked in the street.  Off for some icing and epsom salt fun ....

Hack ... cough, cough.  Phlefjklanjka.  Yuck.  It took awhile to crash last night ... the cough is just nasty.  Otherwise I feel fine.  No head cold or anything.  Just this disgusting, continual hacking.  It sounds like the emphysema floor between Frank and I.  Energy is fine interestingly enough.

WARNING:  RANT

So my FIL sent his 3 year old grandson clothes for Christmas.  It's wrong on so many levels.  Not just some either ... 6 gift boxes of clothes, including (hold on to your hats) white dress pants with a short sleeve, not of this earth fabric dress shirt in taupe.  Where are the white shoes and straw fedora?  How's about a little pocket scarf to top it all off?  He's 3 not 74.  Holy smokes.  There was also a winter coat (what kid in the midwest doesn't have a winter coat by December 25th?).  This is definitely one of those instances where you have to dig deep and say it's the thought that counts.  This is also the same grandfather who has yet to lay eyes on his grandson.  Putz.

Angling for a trainer ride during little dood's nap.  I think something like a Stones concert is in order for the ride.  I can always fast forward through the Keith tunes (at shows this is when I pee or get a beer ... along with everyone else.)  Excellent.  And I did go with Julia Child for my viewing pleasure ... mmm, spinach 3 ways.  ;)

3 hour nap + 7 overnight = 10 more hours of sleep yesterday.  And yes, I do feel lots better but still coughing my butt off.  It should be gone by the weekend.  YEA!  I can't remember the last time something knocked me on my butt like this.  I'm sure the impact was minimized by the ability to do nothing but sleep the other day.

I'd like to try and get out for a walk at least today.  Hopefully that can happen.  I did one better, went to the gym and did the elliptical for 25 minutes.  Best I felt all day was during ... cough came back after but at least I sweat life out a bit.  :)

No typo in the number of hours slept yesterday ... yup, that's right.  I slept 18 hours yesterday.  I was up for two, one hour increments and two, two hour increments.  This was the weirdest holiday I never had.  Luckily for me, my folks are willing to enter this den of snot today and take their chances so I can get some more rest.  Have I ever mentioned how wonderful I think my mom and dad are?  Well, they are.  Take it from me.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

There's clear and evident proof that I am not super woman.  I have what I like to call the illness smackdown.  Started yesterday, was impossible by this morning.  Got up to watch Jack open presents, back to bed for 3 hours, up for another hour, back to bed for 4 hours.  I'm up again but upright is unpleasant enough that I'll soon be back to bed.  Needless to say, we rescheduled the family gathering for Sunday.

Hope everyone is having a happy, healthy and merry Christmas!

December 24

Geez, I've been non-stop for days now and there is still MORE to do!  I was sound asleep when little dood woke up and am still shaking off the wake up whinies.

Merry Christmas to everyone!  Hope you have a great holiday!

Yesterday was "pile on" day.  Once my husband woke up and was somewhat functional, I put Jack into bed with him and did the grocery shopping for the holidays, stopped by the hooch store and bought a new light fixture for that bathroom (fried the old one with high wattage bulb ... oops).  By then it was 4:30.  Then I made dinner, gave Jack a bath, put him to bed, wrapped presents and stuffed stockings.  I was up until midnight doing it all however, that leaves today available for (drum roll please) A WORKOUT!  I'm desperate to get out of the house not on errands so I'm going to try and swim AND do my scheduled trainer ride.  God willing, it will all happen.

As of 8:00, husband still asleep, little dood has nasty head/chest cold.  Me?  Still fine.  I swear it's because of my crazy, weird neti pot.  And the world of Airborne.

12:11 p.m. One workout down, one to go.  3:52 p.m.  It's all over now.  Would have paid $ to have a nap instead.  ;)
