Coached strength workout today. :)
Good workout. Finally switched gyms officially. It was hard to say goodbye to the ladies in daycare who have watched Jack since he was 3 months old but geez, that gym just doesn't offer the kinds of programs the new one does. Plus, this is a heck of a lot closer. And it has a pool.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
Comes from my 3 year old. "Mom, are burps brown?" I'm still howling.

10' zone 1 + 10' zone 2 + 4 X (30'' stride + walk 1') + 5' zone 1 + walk 5' + stretch
Short run on deck for today. Lots of errands to follow. And housecleaning. Another exciting day here in suburbia. ;)
I took Jack for a run in the stroller ... forgot how ding dong heavy and awkward doing that is. But, we had fun. It was nice to have someone to talk to this morning. And we got out before the sun broke through the clouds so it wasn't really hot yet. Considering the extra weight, I'm pretty happy with the time. :)
Final MIL installment (I hope). Frank sat her down and explained to her that she doesn't listen, isn't thinking clearly and that she and her husband have been make some odd/interesting/concerning choices. He told her that we're not letting Jack stay overnight there any longer because we're concerned about their ability to take care of him. She said she never meant to involve me ... which I explained back to Frank that she absolutely DID mean to ... otherwise she would have never called and started out the conversation the way she did. SO, everything between them is settled. I told Frank I needed more time to get unpissed about the experience but eventually I'll get over it. Until then, they are still not welcome here. And that's where it stands.
Thanks everyone for being so supportive!!! It meant a lot. :)

3.1 miles
Alright ... I don't do this too often but ... no workout today. I am hung-the-F$%& over. I had my fair share of the cocktails last night but more problematic for me is the smoke in the bars and the late night. I stopped drinking around 10:30 but we stayed out until 1. UGH. I am not able to keep up with the big kids like I used to. Stayed with Richard, Matt and Scott at the hotel. Fun! Quick breakfast this morning, drove home and I can't wait to take a nap when Jack does.
Napped. Human again. Went out for a walk with Jack after dinner. Nice. Very nice.

10' zone 1 + 10' zone 2 + 4 X (30'' stride + walk 1') + 5' zone 1 + walk 5' + stretch
Short run today and LOTS of running around. Baby shower this afternoon and then a night out with Richard and Matt, who are in from DC. Oh, and Frank is at his mom's right now having the show down.
Run felt good but HR was high. Dehydrated a bit, a bit stressed out and low on fuel. But I really enjoyed being out there. :)

150 easy free + 50 dolphin kick on back + 50 breaststroke + 200 closed fist and pullbuoy + 50 OK + 50 Pinky + 50 Index + 4 X 250 light pace free, RI=20'' + 100 backstroke
Swim scheduled for today. Then into the city to drop Jack off @ his dad's office and go get my haircut. Tonight, if my girlfriend Robin feels better, we're going to the informal gathering/reunion of the class ahead of us. We had more friends in that class than in our own.
Frank heard back from his mom. She requested just the two of them get together at her house. Probably one morning this weekend. We'll see where it goes from there. It'd be nice for the drama to be over.
Swim was miserable. The dolphin kick kills my legs. It sucks my will to live. Well, that may be a LITTLE over the top. ;)

Core: balance stuff
Heading out to NC this weekend to visit my friend Diane and her kids. Her husband passed away two years ago this weekend. So, I'm going out for the not anniversary. She's raising a 6, 4 and 2 year old by herself. I have no idea how she does it. In short, I think her inner strength is amazing.
Coached strength workout today. Might do tomorrow's swim this afternoon too. I'd rather be sure to get it in than risk not doing it tomorrow.
Great workout. Although I bitched through the entire thing. "What? You think I can lift that 10 times? Are you on crack?" Of course I was just fine. Thanks for pushing me Brett. :)
Swim is still TBD.
