2'30" ride

UGH!  It took forever to ride today.  What seemed like a good idea just kept dragging on and on and on.  Blech.  Overall, I guess it wasn't too bad except for the fact that I completely misgauged how long the route was.  Oh well.

Dragged most of the afternoon until I had a lot of bad for me snacks which righted the world of wrongs.  :)

Decided to do this ride w/o the Garmin so no HR.  Distance is from my bike computer.  I felt great this morning.  And I was thrilled it was a short ride.  All was said and done by 8:15 and by 9:00 I was playing with Jack.  Great start to the day.

Now I've got the afternoon draggies but will busy myself so I a) don't sleep or b) eat.

Well, I'd say our trip to the Sandwich Fair was completely uneducational and full of mouth breathers but it was fun.  Pretty big too.  We saw all the livestock you could hope to smell, ate crappy carnival food (I opted for the pork chop sandwich because I thought it was the least offensive), and paid $8 in shitty games for a 3' long blow up bat and a 12" plastic bouncy ball.  Your basic carnival.  :)
Oh, it was a recovery day from the training standpoint.

Busy, weird day.  Woke up oddly.  Vivid dream and pulled out by Jack's voice over the monitor.  Never really shook the wake up whinies until about halfway through my pool workout.  My leg is feeling better but still needs rest.  That's fine.  Whatever.

Tomorrow Frank and I are taking Jack to Sandwich, IL for the 120th annual Sandwich Fair.  I LOVE IT!  It's DeKalb County's fair but I just like the name of it ... Sandwich Fair.  "Ummm, I'd like a ham and gouda with chutney please."  Thought the kid would get a kick out of seeing cows and horses and pigs and stuff.  Introduce him to the glories of carnival rides.  :)

Ran around like a madman this morning cleaning the house.  Good news is that it is done. :)  Met Brett and worked on some running drills (strength based), balance and core work.  Oddly, I am TIGHT from not working out.  Who knew that would happen?

Somebody tell me I need these shoes ... I am wavering more than Larry Craig at the moment.

It's a rest day!  I'm going to wing by the farmers market and then head over to the Field Museum with Jack.  We are entering the dinosaur stage of little boy development and if it means there is ANY possibility of shaking the Wiggles ... I'm there.  "Mamas don't let you babies grow up with the Wiggles ...."  ;)

Well, seems as if this leg thing is here to stay for awhile.  No just wishing it away.  (Damn.)  Now it's time for Plan B, which I am sure is the perfect plan. :)

A nice, relaxing ride.  No need to chit chat, no need for anything.  I just hunkered down in my aero bars and rode.  It was nice.  Sometimes a solo workout is just what is needed.  Leg is good, not great.  Looking forward to having it worked on tomorrow.

Off to a BBQ shortly. :)
