My body is just so weird. I can run 2x20min at around a 6:20, but can barely go under 620's for 5 minutes? I suppose it's because I have no real running background, so I don't really know HOW to run faster- it's just so odd!

Swim

Meh. Back was tired, had no speed.

There is a 'caution floors slippery when wet' sign on the pool deck. And I thought University of Michigan students were supposed to be smart?!

After a good night's sleep, everything was better today. Much better run, 7:20s felt easy again- everything was great! Sun was out super early, and the day was starting to warm up- yeah spring!

Swim
  • 1h 10m
  • 4100.00 yards
  • 01m 42s /100 yards

Solid long swim. I am finally able to get my head back down in the water. Ever since the head-smashing incident, I've been swimming with my head tilted up just a bit, because I am terrified that someone is going to smash into my head again. I've been trying to get my head back down, but fear wins more often than not. Today I felt normal again, and had the feeling of swimming 'downhill' for the first time since that happened. It's so weird, I used to enjoy having the lane to myself, but now I'm paranoid that if I am alone, someone will jump in without letting me know, and I'll run into them again. Who knew one accident at the pool could be so 'traumatizing'?

Workout fail. Legs were dead. I just could not get them moving. Gr.

Run
  • 36m 23s
  • 4.67 miles
  • 07m 47s /Mi

Something was UP with my body- I couldn't run to save my life! And this effort was HARD. So bizzarre. I'll just chalk it up to a really bad day, overall.

April 23

Swim
  • 40m
  • 2000.00 yards
  • 02m /100 yards

Not too bad of a swim, for a Monday! I had to use the pull bouoy a lot to keep the hips up, but that's OK!

April 22

Bike
  • 4h 44m
  • 92.14 miles
  • 19.47 Mi/hr

Wind wind and more wind. Over 20mph for most of the ride. And it spun around, too, so I never really had a tailwind. Ick. But I survived. My legs were shot at the end!

Run
  • 29m 39s
  • 4.03 miles
  • 07m 21s /Mi

Easy transition run. I was so happy that this pace was easy :)

Swim
  • 50m
  • 2500.00 yards
  • 02m /100 yards

Swim after my ride and run. Actually felt pretty good!

April 21

Bike
  • 2h 10m
  • 35.00 miles
  • 16.15 Mi/hr

Cyclocross ride! I love the dirt roads. It's so nice to just be out on the dirt roads, away from the cars, hanging out with the horses and elpacas :)

Run
  • 30m
  • 3.46 miles
  • 08m 40s /Mi

Nice little trail run with the family. Cody was ready to run super far, and pretty fast! What a crazy puppy.

April 20

Swim
  • 1h 10m
  • 4000.00 yards
  • 01m 45s /100 yards

Another solid swim. 4000 yards doesn't seem like a big deal anymore- cool! Unlike running and biking, though, I don't feel like I'm getting any faster in the water- just less tired.
