very easy warm up before the race , had ran a little in the car park to help relax the race day nerves

Course felt a bit longer than 800 m
i was anxious in the corral , but felt confident to start near the front left , took some deep breaths and tried to relax . i felt really good throughout the entire swim leg , walked in and made a line towards the first two buoys , let in a little water at my collar which made forget the wetsuit around my shoulders . I had some contact but it did not bother me at all , reinforced i was in the right lane . quickly caught the rear of the previous wave 3 minutes ahead , the buoy with the turn seemed to have a congregation of breastrokers so had to navigate clear of some nasty kicks , onto the back stretch , past another type of cap colours and then home relaxing and getting 5 strokes between sightings , the water was like a thick green soup and it was impossible to see anything , visibilty 1-2 feet. stayed on few swimmers hips but as they faded i pushed on . I felt really nicely warmed up by the end , ready to run up the steep beach and road to transition

Two laps around Bonelli with a trip over the dam ,which was new on the bike for me ,
Spun hard on the uphills and left it all out on the course , last mile kept the RPMs high to get ready for the run

tough first mile but settled in after an uphill section in the first mile

Race Day , Got 2nd in Clydesdale , great swim and was not that far off the 1st place
