Bring It!

June 3

Bike
  • 3h 01m 04s
  • 45.87 miles
  • 15.20 Mi/hr

First long ride outside. Went much better than expected.. actually enjoyed it ;)

Run afterwards with less than a 5 min transition.

Run
  • 1h 11m 07s
  • 6.00 miles
  • 11m 51s /Mi

Brick run. Since I didn't take much time between the ride and the run, got the full experience of total lead in the legs. At 1.3 miles, that experience got upgraded to alumninum, and after about 2 miles-just tired jello. Good run, overall.

June 2

Run #1
  • 45m 25s
  • 3.62 miles
  • 12m 33s /Mi

Beginning of my long run. Didn't wake up in time to do the planned 10 miles. Too tired and headachy. I have GOT to start getting more sleep.

Run #2
  • 1h 30m 40s
  • 6.80 miles
  • 13m 20s /Mi

Run with my group, only I had to turn around at 3.25 and head back, they continued on to finish the planned 17 miles. We had Russian School graduation, so I had to hightail it home...

Took a Infinit recovery drink and man, what a difference. Even though my legs aren't yet accustomed to the distance, no muscles are aching! The only sign i have that this is still a bit of a shock to the system (after the break i took) is my knee buckling from time to time while I'm just walking around. I had that several times after my first marathon and it's a little weird (and unsettling).. so i'm going to keep the pace slow for the next few weeks (except for speedwork), no injuries, thank you...

6:08 pm: it's been a crazy day. I'm exhausted. I ran, then we went to Naperville for my boys' Russian School graduation ceremony. They all did little performances and recited poems and stuff. Lukas was pretty much enjoying stage time until he got tired of it;) Nikita learned a short little poem (4 lines) and did a fantastic job reciting it in Russian! Mama was so proud! :) Then we came home, changed and immediately went to a park for a birthday party for a neighbors' little girl.. Just came home, Damon is putting the kids in bed after a bath and we are going to watch a movie, and I hope to be asleep by 9 at the latest. Want to be ON the bike by 5 am for a 3 hour ride and then - hopefully - 6-7 mile run. Then finish packing and clean the house, we are leaving on Monday on family vacation. More on that later.......

easy spin in the cycling studio at LTF. Legs are achy after last night's run.

Swim

quick 20 min in the pool. My googles were annoying the heck out of my face... couldn't get them to not leak! ugh. Making them tighter was painful, and less tight-and water was seeping in. No idea why they are being difficult, they aren't cheap googles, they should work! lots of little stops because of that...

3:11 pm: going out with a couple of moms from our kids' bus stop for pizza and beer. Trying to pack for our vacation, leaving on Monday. So much to do! Also want to just lay down and sleep for 20 hours.
