Bring It!

Rest day *sigh*
Was supposed to do a 4 hr ride with a brick, but was too exhausted, to be honest. It had been a rough week. Nothing major, really, but way too little sleep, and the kids were pushing their boundaries a lot, for some reason.. and being that D was out of town all week and then played softball (tournament )literally all day on Saturday (10:30-7:30 - they WON!), I was a single mom all week, which is totally no problem ever, but this week, I guess I needed a little bit of a breather. We went out of town today yet again for our nieces' bday, and that mean to get a workout in, I had to be ON my bike at 5 am. And I just didn't have it in me. So I just skipped it completely, and I think it was the right call. Feel much better now and will hit it hard this week....

A little warm up...
Galloway group run.
Another 3 miles after the group run. I must be really tired, body just didn't want to move. At all. Did 1:1s just to cover the distance. Turns out I was burning 130 cal a mile, which should have been maybe 70 at this pace? (my normal tempo runs I don't even burn 100 cal a mile), so it explains the fatigue..

Ran at LTF in Schaumburg. Can't wait for Algonquin to reopen next week.
Did 4 miles, then ran 1.5 miles at a 9 min pace. Want to work on that 5K time, so will try to do short speedwork (up to 4 miles) at race pace, every week for now (5K on Aug 11) and then probably every other week. Curious to see if I can get the 5K on Aug 11 (Red Run in Algonquin) under 30 min, and then work towards my goal of 27 min 5K by the end of the year.
The 1.5 miles I did on the dreadmill I did in 14:xx so I feel it's very doable. Of course, that was on the treadmill, not outside.. so we will see.
