Doctor diagnosed me with a major tear of my gastrocenemius muscle. I am able to gingerly walk, but need to keep it elevated to minimize the edema. My foot is horribly swollen and looks bruised, but the doc assures me it is minor and will pass with recovery.
4 weeks - No running, 2 weeks - no cycling, then only gently. I am worried I have screwed myself on my 'A' race in May, but I will train hard come april to get back in shape.
Can I make it through an MS-150 with only 3 weeks prep? I doubt it. I'll just go and do my best. I really wanted to be in a different place for the CB&I race on May 6th. I'll just have to see where I go from here.
I'm eating not because I'm hungry, but because I'm down. This is really bumming me. I need to focus on something else - either go do core work or something. Maybe that's a good idea, swim and core work, light weights.
I can't run - I can't bike. Time for aquatherapy. Swimming should be ok, need to get in the pool to test it, but I think I'll be Ok.
Now, repeat after me - I WILL NEVER GET OVERCONFIDENT AND SKI BEYOND MY ABILITY AGAIN.
