DEAR MADAM:
THANK YOU FOR YOUR RECENT ORDER FROM OUR SEX TOY SHOP.
YOU ASKED FOR THE LARGE RED VIBRATOR AS FEATURED ON OUR WALL DISPLAY.
PLEASE SELECT ANOTHER ITEM BECAUSE THAT IS OUR FIRE EXTINGUISHER.
Yuk, yuk, yuk. Well, I think it's funny. --No work out today. Had a water heater break in one of the rental houses, and spent part of yesterday dealing with that. Today borrowing the STBX's car (mine's with my son in Ruidoso) so I can go inspect at noon. The carpet guy says carpet just needs cleaning and it will be fine. that's the good news.
Really wanted to swim on the way to work, but schedule doesn't allow. Without the IM staring me in the face it's a lot, lot easer to stay in bed and besides, got to recover right? RIGHT? That's my story and i'm sticking to it. I did manage to catch the post IM cold, although it's just an annoying little thing so far.
I'm really trying to stay focused on work - got to dig out of the credit card hole I'm in. And ski season is coming, and that means lots of time away from work - no savings buffer this year. Got to focus and make some $$. Focus, Jasha, focus. Anybody seen focus cat? I think a laughing cat would be a good replacement for Serious Cat.
Thanks Jen for letting me borrow Serous Cat for the final training months leading up to IMFL. :)

I really need to relax, and live my life. I need to stop worrying about what my soon-to-be-x thinks about what I do or don't do except as it makes sense and meets family needs. I really need to grow a pair.
I think I'm experiencing that 'deep fatigue' I've read about after IM races. I just feel kind of drug out. I feel healthy (except for perhaps a touch of a cold), but not all that strong. I feel fine on the bike commutes -all of 15 minutes. I'm wanting to do some workout, but just don't want to push it too soon, and yet at the same time hate to loose fitness by laying off. the books and fourums say take it easy for a week to three, or even four. Perhaps tomorrow a little swim on the way to work. The schedule works well that way anyway. --- need to start looking at what workout plan to follow. I'm thinking weights, skating, biking, lots of run base building, and maybe a little swimming.
Hoping my bike shows up early next week. I've now got room in the garage to work on it. :)

Mtn bike commute down to the office and back this morning so I could watch them implode a building downtown. that was a very cool thing. The rides felt good although I'm feeling more fatigued today and yesterday than earlier in the week.
Last night I goofed. It was kind of late, but I went to the grocery store anyway. The exit is downhill, and I always park straight out the door near the end of the lane. (I'm really just a kid at heart) When I wheel the cart out of the store, I give a little run then hoist myself up on the cart and ride it down to the car, hopping off and running the last little bit to slow down. Last night I forgot that I've got sore feet and ankles that are healing - Oops and ouch! Started everything hurting again. I think maybe I brused the bottoms of my feet and some of the ligaments during the IM. Anyway they're a little sore today. Just a touch of setback.
Without 8 hours of work out today, I cleaned the garage - besides I had offer of help from my daughter and her boy-friend. The boyfriend (J) works in a grocery store and they've been offered for a very cheep price, boxes of food that the store has pulled off the shelves. So we've got quite a stash. Today we built shelves to accomidate the food. The garage is much neater with out boxes of food, and I also took the opportunity to clean out a bunch of trash that has accumulated over the years. I can actually use my work bench now - fabulous. I feel like we really accomplished something. Vacuuming inside tonight. Work tomorrow. Accounting junk, which is not my favorite - but I'll also get some paying work done. should start on my RR durning lunch. Thought I'd get to it today, but family time in the garage was more fun.

Easy mtn bike to work and home. Yesterday I focused on the bottom part of the stroke. Pushed a little too. Today - tired.

Spirit weaves itself through and around our lives, giving us structure and nourishing us with a ceaseless flow of abundance. - Patricia J. Gentry
The essence of being a human is being able to direct your own life. - Stephen R. Covey
It's unclear what I have to do because the rules change and there are unspoken and un-agreed to expectations. I remember sitting in the cafeteria at college one day sipping tea and thinking about what I needed to do. It was simple then. Go to school, get good grades, graduate and move on. That was one thing I really liked about training for the Iron Man. Simple. Eat, Sleep, do the work outs, build, recover, build some more, recover from injury or overtraining, get back on track. There is a simple goal. Get to the start line prepared to run the race. I'm working on simplifying my life but in the mean time it remains messy.
I reread Friel last night on recovery from Iron Man. And I've re read the thread on recovery here on BT. So today rather than go swim, I slept in a bit more, did some very, very light weights, and rode my mtn bike 15 minutes to work. I felt tired when I awoke this morning. Rest and recovery are good. It's almost nap time.
Part of my current plan is to look at BT ONLY durning lunch. No sneak a peak at what everyone else is doing during the work day! Even if it is coffee break. :)

If I feel trapped , let me look at how I built the trap, and how I can take it apart. Where I used to say, "I can't," let me practice saying, "I won't." - Casey and Vanceburg
This morning I'm wanting to get out and do something. The bike commute (all of three miles) has felt wonderful each morning this week. Sure not ready to run yet, although the swelling in my feet seems to have gone all the way down, the bottoms of my feet are still just a little tender. Perhaps a short ride to the pool, short swim, ride home - then commute to work for tomorrow. I want to get back to the weights as well. ski season is coming. Think I'll still wait a few days before I demand much from the legs. Perhaps a 1-2 hr ride on Saturday. sure hope my bike arrives in time for me to get it put together and ride it on Sat. If not, the old one will do.
Need to work on the RR as well as reducing pictures and uploading them.

To serve is to experience the multiplication of our gifts. - Gentry
I do not remember my alarm going off this morning, but I woke up feeling pretty good after 8.5 hrs of sleep. I'm feeling more and more like doing something every day. I had planned to swim this morning, but I guess sleep was a higher priority. I'm enjoying the short ride back and forth to work. Having deep post IM thoughts, but when I sit down to write they're gone. What's that all about. Probably just because I'm trying to squeeze a quick post in. Focus on work and life. Someday I'll find some ballance. :)
Working on RR.
