Morning ride to work. 13.5 miles--41:36-19.5mph. Good ride, I kept the mph off the display on the computer and just concentrated on rmp. Pleasently surprised by the time and speed. Getting off work early to avoid riding in the dark.

Ride home from work--51:44-14.9mph. Into a brisk headwind, was quite the workout. Small chain ring the whole way.

Just some thoughts...My wife asked me after my race on Saturday if I was proud of myself for my time. I told her sure...Thinking about it now, I'm more proud of getting back outside last night, after working 11 hours and finishing my run workout that was interupted in the morning. It would have been very easy to sit on the couch and watch the football game instead. I'm not trying to brag or anything, but just thinking I'm happier with myself for the training I do to get to a race, then how I perform in a race...just thinking out loud...

    Quick, hard ride on trainer while watching Sunday Night Football. Wife was at work so I had the kids, I set the trainer up in the living room. Will be a surprise for the wife in the morning.
    Some good news, my neighbor is getting rid of a treadmill, I think it will look good in the living room too. Who needs a couch in the living room??

    Last night was the last cheat night before the marathon. Ate too much watching the Bama game. Roll Tide!!! Back on the training and nutrition plan. Have intervals tomorrow morning, may try a short run or trainer session tonight, or maybe not, kind of a flex day.

    My Wife and I's 11th anniversary and my youngest daughter's bday party, so no training today. Did get some painting done and will race a local 10k tomorrow. Tomorrow is actually the youngest's bday so probably no training, other than the race.

    Better run today. No walking, other than to pee and fill bottles. Really tried to "Embrace my turtle"(I love that and have borrowed it), for the first half of the run, which I thought was working well, but the turtle wouldn't let go and I ended up dragging him like an anchor for the rest of the run. I beginning to realize that maybe I'm not a 10min/mile long runner, yet. Oh, well, my goal time for Chicago is to finish under 5 hours.

    Off day, long 20 mile run tomorrow. Painted today instead. Got some whole wheat spaghetti for dinner, try to carb up a little. Hoping for a better run tomorrow than last weeks long run.
