Day Off!

March 4

Sport
 • Snowboarding
 • 3h 00m

Brent and I rode while the girls took part in the Girls Learn to Ride clinic that Creek/Op was putting on.

I started to learn how to boardslide too!

Today's Highlights: Great day of riding and I (kind of) learned a new trick :) Today's Lowlights: My wife's instructor was not great at all! She learned almost everything on her own.

I was supposed to do this workout on Sunday and be 'off' today and Saturday. Instead, I switched up my dates so I could snowboard both Saturday and Sunday. Didn't have any clean outdoor w/o gear, so I used the exercise bike today.

Today's Highlights:Done with my w/o at 6am :) Also gonna see my best friend and his wife this weekend. Really looking forward to it. By the way, this is two cardio w/o's in less than 12 hours. That's some kind of record for me, I think. Today's Lowlights: Diet has been kind of all over the place the last few days. I forgot my lunch yesterday, so I ended up buying and just haven't been 'with it' in that aspect of my training for the past week. I should get back on the horse next week.

Run
 • 31m 06s
 • 3.00 miles
 • 10m 22s /Mi

At the 2.5 mile point, I was about 1 minute behind my pace yesterday. I'm accounting this to the fact that it snowed/sleeted today and running was a bit treacherous. I did feel that I exerted less energy today than yesterday and found a more 'comfortable' running groove.

Today's Highlights: It snowed/sleeted today, so I was gonna just jump on the exercise bike and run tomorrow. Decided to try the running surface and was happy I did. I kind of liked running in the snow. Today's Lowlights: We have a project that, as time goes on, is showing itself to be physically improbable and just a fundamental bad engineering design. But, management in its infinite wisdom, promised this design and we must deliver....oh, and my boss, who is the lead engineer on the project is going to jury duty tomorrow and, if not chosen tomorrow, will be heading to Malaysia for a week. Great!

March 1

Run
 • 25m 40s
 • 2.50 miles
 • 10m 16s /Mi

Did a 2.5 mile loop by my house. I felt really good running, although my legs didn't really loosen up until about halfway into it. I still don't know how I'm gonna get that 45min run accomplished that I've got scheduled in a few weeks

Today's Highlights: I'm maintaining my current mpm pace while seemingly exerting less energy. That's good. Today's Lowlights: Protein is going to be hard to come by today as it's Ash Wednesday and I am not the biggest fan of fish :)

February 28

Sport
 • Yoga
 • 40m

Flexibility continues to increase, however the 'shutters' are still there. I'm still toning all those little stabilizer muscles.

Today's Highlights: Continue to progress with my training and, more importantly, I'm keeping a consistency with my training that I'd been lacking for a long time. Today's Lowlights: I've been staring at a design issue for the last two days - can't figure out how to get these two bearing that are about two feet apart from not binding...it should work out soon though.

February 27

Bike
 • 30m
 • 8.80 miles
 • 17.60 Mi/hr

Due to temps (mid 20*'s) and time (didn't get home from work until 7pm), I jumped on the exercise bike and did a 30-min flat terrain workout concentrating on high cadence w/low resistance. Felt good!

Today's Highlights: Got a good sweat going and was able to hang out with my wife while I did it - she was watching TV while I was working out. Kind of multi-tasking, but it worked for both of us. Today's Lowlights: Back to work today. I was kind of upset that I didn't get a chance to get back out on the 'real' bike, but I feel like I got a good workout in none-the-less.
