Still cruddy :( !  I slept in this morning, or at least stayed in bed.  Calling it sleep would be a stretch. 

Probably another rest day today and hopefully back at it tomorrow.  I can pick up my bike after work so I'll have it back. :) 

I have been using a bit of the down time reading Advanced Marathoning by Pete Pfitzinger.  Good stuff for the ultra serious marathoner, but even us mop'ers can learn something that will help move from the back of the middle to the front of the mop.  I may use one of his lower mileage (in this case, this means about 50 miles a week, his other plans are 70 + miles per week) plans for the Music City Marathon in April.  Still have to fit in bike and swim time!

July 28

Yesterday started to feel like I had a cold coming on, during the night it went to full scale congestion :( .  We were out of the normal stuff I take for colds so I took something else I found, big mistake.  Bad case of medicine head, upset stomach, and it didn't touch the congestion.  So I sat down in my workout room watching tv hoping the weights would lift themselves.  I did finally get down on the floor and stretched out good, but otherwise it is going to be a rest day.

My Ipod died :( !  But the good news is, I get a new one! 

I may try a strength training session later, but I want to spend this weekend catching up on as much around the home front as I can.  So that may have to wait till tomorrow or Monday.  I'm going to go with unstructured workouts for the next couple of weeks, do what I want, when I want (other than the ride next Saturday!).  Then put in a structured Oly plan for FL.

I took care of a long overdue household job this morning! Weed and feed is supposed to be put down in the spring, but I finally got it down this morning. Better late than never, but it needed it as the last 2 or 3 times on the lawn mower, weeds were the only thing growing. :)

The race report is done!

Race Report

A little strength training and some stretching this morning.  Working back into the routine slowly.  Overall I feel really good and well rested.  The only lingering issues are some of the chaffing from the wet clothes and that will just take time.

July 23

Last day of vacation :( !  This past week has flown by.

Took Connie and Lisa to the Kenny Chesney and Leann Rimes concert last night.  I'm not a fan, but it was entertaining!  Ate some Dinosaur BBQ and probably more beer than I should have, but I slept like a baby.  I didn't even notice Connie had left to take Lisa to the airport.  She left at 4:30 and was back in bed when I woke up!  

Today I need to finish unpacking and maybe work on the race report.  I took the bike to the shop yesterday to get it tuned up and checked over.  It spent way too much time in the rain between the race and the ride home.  I think the rear brake cable may have some debris or something as it was hanging up yesterday when I gave it a quick spin.

I'm itching to get back to training again.  I like my routine of getting up early (although the rest feels good)!  Planning on swimming Friday night in the lake and may take my road bike out for a short ride Saturday or Sunday.  I have a bunch of home projects that have been neglected to do as well.
