Funny how some races go, I felt like I was struggling the whole race to keep on track to beat last years time of 1:49:48. Dummy me can't do math at a high HR apparently as I turned on to the last stretch I checked the watch and it looked like it would be close to beating my previous HM best which was on a flatter course, so I picked it up as much as I could and wound up beating my old best of 1:46:31 by a minute and a little more than half!
Dudley and Kara rode up with me, they had great races too!

Nothing this morning, I had other things that needed attention. I need to do my shoulder PT sometime today and maybe an easy trainer ride.
Not sure how to approach tomorrows race, it isn't that big of a race in the plan for this season, but I also don't think that a PR is out of the question for either the distance or certainly this course this will be my 3rd time so I have a little bit better idea how to pace it although I am not always that smart. Maybe a game time decision, and sometimes I just hear the starters gun and forget the plan and go like hell until I crash and burn.

Went to the pool with Dud, did some swimming without over reaching, it went ok. Focused more on body position and drills lots of kicking.

Good short run to get the legs moving this morning.
I did the lunch time Pilates class here at work, good stretch with some ab work thrown in.Â
