Arms, back and shoulder PT.

I met with the ortho yesterday to get the results of the MRI I had last week.  Torn cartilage is the result and he will be going in to fix it in a couple of weeks.  Unfortunately it will be a slow recovery and a summer of running races and bike riding after a few weeks of recovery.  Best hope of a tri this year at all is if I can get back to the pool on the short end of the recovery window and get adequate training for IMFL.  If not, a fall marathon will be the back up plan.

Headed to the basement this morning for some strength training and maybe a ride on the trainer.  Struggling a little bit with the motivation this morning, but I know I need to keep as fit as I can.

I was on the old TT bike this morning with the power tap that is wired.  I need to check the calibration as that effort wasn't a challenge and the numbers are pretty high.  One of the 2 must be off.

Nice run along the lake and back up MC road.  Cool and sunny, just right for a run.  Took it easy, running legs are finally feeling good again, need to build back up to the longer harder stuff.

Around the lake with Dud and Mike backwards.  Threw in Duel Road at the end to get some more climbing in, I think we were around 2700 ft, most of it in the last 15 miles or so.  We had a good time!

Just some strength stuff this morning.  Molly caught kennel cough (even though she was vaccinated) and between that and the storms rolling through she was up fussing quite a bit last night.  We'll see what the rest of the day brings.  I do need to lengthen the week night rides some.  I was thinking that since I don't golf and a lot of our exec team at work do belong to leagues and leave a little early I would do the same one night a week and take a longer ride.  The problem with that is we have all been real busy, in a good way, but it is a struggle to get out for all of us to do anything.

TGIF!!

Went to bed with the intention of getting up and running this morning but the hip flexor's and IT were still a little tight so figured a little swim would help.  It did, especially with all the kick drills etc.  I did manage to adjust the stroke of the left arm enough to swim some without any shoulder pain.  If I keep the elbow bent so it isn't reaching and don't start the pull until it is below the shoulder it doesn't get as painful.  The right side pull is getting a lot stronger too as a side benefit to all the pt and strength training trying to fix the left.  So that is good.
