Saturday - January 4

Nothing today except a long day of travel.

Considering the problems of Thursday and Friday, we did pretty good getting home.  When we arrived in Ft Lauderdale we received an e-mail that our 10:30 flight to Newark would be delayed 2 hours.  We had signed up for self departure to get off early since a 10:30 flight would be close going the normal route of departure.  We were one of the first ones off the ship and through airport security by 7:45 am.  We figured we would sit there all morning and wind up missing our connection.  I took a chance and walked up to the counter of the 8:30 flight and asked if there was room.  Surprisingly he said there wasn't but there was no one on stand by.  So, when it came time to load they had seats for us.  I was really surprised since I was talking to a few people there that had their flight cancelled Friday.  Our flight from Newark to Rochester was on time with no problems until we got to baggage claim.  One bag right away.  Wait for the other 2, nothing.  Still people from our flight waiting (and Rochester baggage handling sucks on a good day).  Finally after an hour, I get a very helpful customer service person who found the scanner for off loaded baggage.  The computer showed our 2 missing bags did get on.  So, our bags got on, and didnt get off.  Who knows when they will arrive. 

All in all, a great week of R and R and probably a little, or maybe no so little bit of over indulgence.

I have done a few group rides that ended with a cold beer, but never one that ended with a cold beach at a nude beach! It's going to be a great year! Especially if any of my clothes still fit after this boat ride!

For clarification, it wasnt a nude beach per se'  but we were on a French Island where the woman can and often do go topless.
